It was a solid day overall as I was 3-1 with my premium selections yesterday and 1-1 with my free plays, but my top play on Twins at +15- came through. It’s all MLB action for me again tonight as we get ready for another weekend of football, so let’s get right to tonight’s selections.

Chicago Cubs ML  (+153) $300 to win $459

Here come those Jays again, building up hope for their fan base that this team can actually make a late September push and get into the playoffs. Toronto has won three in a row and eight of their last 10 overall, but they’ve got the inconsistent Drew Hutchinson on the hill tonight looking for the sweep.

Hutchinson had a decent outing against Boston his last time out, but this guy is a ticking time bomb after a few solid starts and I believe the Cubs get to him. The Jays are 1-5 SU in his last six starts against a losing team, 0-8 SU when he goes in Game 3 of a series and 2-6 SU the last eight times he’s been a home favorite. He’s up against a young guy in Kyle Hendricks who has a 6-1 SU record on the year and Chicago is 9-1 SU in his 10 total starts this year.

The Cubs love to give Hendricks plenty of support as they’ve scored 5.3 runs per game for him in those 10 outings and that number as increased to 6.7/game over his last three. With Toronto needing every win they can get just to stay relevant (plus a lot of help), the pressure will finally get to this team that’s notorious for not closing out games/series when they need to. Tonight will be no different as I’m grabbing the + money with the Cubs.

Minnesota Twins ML (+144) $200 to win $288

Going back to the Twins again tonight as they look to clinch a series win over another team in the wildcard hunt. Minnesota snapped their four-game losing streak with yesterday’s victory and are facing a young guy in T.J House who they saw a few weeks back. Minnesota lost that game 5-0 as they couldn’t take advantage of their 4 hits and 3 walks against House, but I expect that to change tonight as the intense atmosphere gets to House tonight.
