Tuesday was another profitable day as a 2-0 night (one postponed) helps me grow my MLB record back into the positives again and gives up some room to play with profits. The Cubs jumped all over Liriano as their good hitting numbers continued against left-handed pitching and the over 10 in Atlanta/Colorado wasn’t even a sweat as it was 7-3 after the first inning. Easy winners like that always make you feel good but it’s not always going to be that easy and you have to keep grinding away to make money in this industry.
It’s on to tonight’s board with MLB and Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the card, with diamonds getting most of my attention.

Boston/Baltimore Over 8.5 (-109) $218 to win $200
The Red Sox and Orioles have split the opening two games of this series with each win coming via the shutout. Both games have gone ‘under’ the total because of that and I believe that changes tonight in the series finale.
Boston has seen Chen twice already this season and hit him hard both times. The Red Sox were only 1-1 SU in those games, but Chen never lasted longer than 5.2 innings in games that finished 4-3 Boston and 7-6 Baltimore. Chen has allowed 5 runs/ game over his last three outings, but has gotten six runs of support in those games from his teammates so it’s not like he’s hung out to dry out there. The O’s are 4-1-1 O/U in Chen’s last six starts against division favorites and have a 7-2 O/U record when he’s only had four days of rest, so look for some runs tonight.
LA Dodgers ML (+115) $200 to win $230
The Dodgers have won the first two games of this series and have to like their chances with Greinke on the hill tomorrow. But it’s tonight with Ryu on the hill where I think they have a great chance to win as underdogs tonight. L.A is getting +money because the Reds are trotting out their ace Johnny Cueto, but it’s this Reds offense that I’m interested in fading tonight.
The Reds have struggled all season against left-handed pitching and Ryu already out-dueled Cueto 4-3 in L.A back in late-May. While some would want to apply the revenge angle on tonight’s game in the Reds favor because of that, they are just too porous offensively against southpaws to trust them. Cincinnati has already been held down to three total runs in the first two games of this series and they hadn’t even seen a southpaw yet. The Reds are 2-8 SU in their last 10 against a left-handed starter (1-4 SU at home) and with L.A being 4-0 SU in Ryu’s last four road starts and 8-1 SU in his last nine as an underdog, I’m grabbing the +money Dodgers tonight.
Colorado ML (+119) $300 to win $357
Had an easy winner last night with the ‘over’ in Game 2 of this series last night. Both teams brought their bats with them in the 13-10 Atlanta win and I wouldn’t be shocked to see both offenses do well tonight. But it’s the Rockies who I expect to win tonight as they’ve got a young pitcher in Matzek making his major league debut. No one at this level has really seen him before and that works in Matzek’s favor, although he will have to be good to match Teheran tonight.
However, it’s because of another favorable umpiring situation as to why I’m making this my play of the day. Paul Emmel is the man calling balls and strikes tonight and in his 13 games behind the dish home teams are 10-3 SU (+6.9 units). That is a number I can’t ignore and with the Rockies looking to avoid dropping the first three games of this four-game set, I think they come out on top.
