Lost one unit on my 1-1 split with my two free plays as the top play on the over in LAA/Boston couldn’t get there. The Red Sox were 1-for-14 with men in scoring position last night and that futile hitting killed any chance of seeing that game reach double digit runs. Washington held true to form during their recent winning streak by never leading their game by more than one run with Arizona yesterday and that +1.5 run line on the heavy dog managed to cash. We’ve got a full baseball board to pick from today so let’s get right to the plays.
Make sure you check our free trial on our premium picks as we were 2-1 with them last night too.

Texas ML (+141) $300 to win $423
The Texas Rangers got a much needed morale boost with their come from behind walk-off victory over the 1st place Angels on Sunday. The Rangers players know that this season is a lost cause and are just playing out the string, but many of them are playing for roster spots next year and they are still professionals who want to go out and win every night. That comeback win was what this team needed for a shot in the arm though and I expect them to carry that momentum into tonight’s game as they pull out another victory.
Miami starter Jared Cosart is coming off one of his best outings of the season as he and the Marlins blanked St Louis 3-0. Cosart only allowed three hits in seven innings of work and it was what Miami was hoping for from him when they grabbed him from Houston at the deadline. However, his time spent with the Astros this year wasn’t exactly stellar and although Houston was 2-0 SU in his two starts vs. the Rangers this year those wins were 6-5 and 12-7. The Rangers bats have to be happy that they are facing this guy one more time this year and considering they beat up on him enough in those two games, I like their odds of getting over the hump against him tonight and finally beating him this season.
KC/Colorado Over 9.5 (-116) $232 to win $200
We’ve got a strong wind blowing out to left field tonight in hitter-friendly Coors Field and both teams are swinging some hot bats right now. Colorado swept a double hitter with the Reds on Sunday by scoring 10 runs in each game and KC has scored 6+ in four of their last five overall.
Those factors alone suggest we should see plenty of runs scored tonight, but with KC being 12-4-1 O/U in Shields’ last 17 road starts overall, including a 5-1 O/U mark as a road favorite of -150 or less, and Colorado being 8-3 O/U in their last 11 home games vs. the AL and 18-7-1 O/U in their last 26 home games vs. the AL when a righty is going and the runs should pile up in a hurry tonight.
