Thanks to a couple of empty net goals by LA, my three Unders in NHL Game 7’s went from a possible winning or break-even day to a losing one with those three plays going 1-2. Thankfully I hit my play of the day on the Rockets as they showed up at home and forced a Game 6. I would not be surprised to see that series go the full seven games as well but I’ll get to that game when it comes up tomorrow.

Today it’s getaway day in MLB with numerous double-headers after a rainy start to the week and it’s on the diamond where two of my three plays come from tonight.

Play of the Day in Bold

NHL YTD: 3-5-1 (-$224)

MLB YTD: 3-7-1 (-$766)

NBA YTD: 6-5-1 (+$458)

NBA Plays:

Oklahoma City/Memphis Under 185.5 (-110) $330 to win $300

After four straight overtime games in this series I think we see the defense continue to reign supreme in this series and someone winning this one in regulation. If it weren’t for all the overtimes this series would have a 1-4 O/U record rather than a 3-2 O/U mark as ‘under’ bettors have been continually getting burned.

With the Grizzlies at home trying to move on and the Thunder looking to force a Game 7, tonight’s game will be a defensive struggle down to the core with the first team to reach 90 likely coming out on top.

MLB Plays:

Seattle ML (+138) $200 to win $276

The Yankees were grossly overpriced in the opener of this series back on Monday and the Mariners took advantage of it. Tonight the M’s get to face a struggling Kuroda for the Yanks who has been giving up hits and runs all over the place. Seattle doesn’t have the strikeout heavy lineup of old as they will put the ball in play and sweep this shortened series with the Yankees.

Cincinnati Reds ML (-113) $226 to win $200

The Reds are out to make a statement as this four-game series with the Brewers begins. Cincinnati is here to let Milwaukee know that no matter how good the Brewers start as been this year, Cincinnati will still be a contender in the NL Central this season and it starts by winning the series this weekend.

Cincy has lost four of five coming into tonight’s game but they have given Homer Bailey plenty of run support this year (6/game) and believe it’s only a matter of time before he regains his old form. Bailey’s cause is helped tonight by the fact that he won’t have to face Ryan Braun who is out with an oblique injury and with the power bat of Cincy (Bruce, Votto, Phillips) all having career .300 or better batting averages against Estrada (all faced him at least 13 times) this will be a win for the Reds.

NY Mets ML (+112) $200 to win $224

This is a horrible scheduling spot for the Rockies as they return home for a brief four-game set with the Mets after six straight on the road against division rivals. Colorado has to go back out on the road for three more series once this one concludes so you can forgive them if trying to relax at home might be more on their minds tonight.

On the flip side, New York has only played once this week after rainy weather cancelled their other games and with them being a team that has won 7 of their last 9 overall, those delays likely killed off a bit of their momentum. But the general perception of the Mets being bad still permeates throughout the minds of bettors when they have been a valuable underdog all season. They are still not getting the respect that they deserve and at +112 there is too much value to pass up on the hotter team right now.
