I missed with my play of the day by a half-run last night, but still came away with a nice profit with my two underdog selections hitting. I can never complain about a 2-1 day but it’s always about looking ahead in this business. MLB action is the only game in town today so it’s back to the diamond with my plays today.

Keeping it short and sweet today. This game fits the bill of a strategy I’ve used a lot here on Drock Sports and I’m not about to skip over situations like this.
Cardinals starter Shelby Miller was fantastic in is last outing, pitching a complete game, shutout against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays offense had been raking the ball until that point so slowing them down and completely blanking them was no easy task. But Miller hasn’t shown that he’s capable of sustaining that great play, especially with a 4.71 ERA in his last three starts (including that Jays game). He’s been hit the hardest in night games (5.08 ERA) as seven of the 10 HR’s he’s allowed this year have come after dark.
He faces a Washington team that was blanked yesterday so the sticks will be ready and they’ve had no problem giving Strasburg plenty of help this year. Washington has scored 5.3 runs per Strasburg start this season (14 games) but that number goes up to 8.7 over his last three outings. It’s no surprise that with numbers like that the Nationals are 3-0 SU in those contests and I like their chances for another dominating win tonight.
