After an 0-3 Saturday, I took Sunday off to relax with friends and family and soak up some sun. The 0-3 day put a damper on what was a good week up until that point and I’m looking to start off this week in the winner’s circle as well. With baseball being the only sport in town for the next month or two (if you want to count NFL preseason), it’s important to step back from time to time because betting baseball can really be a grind. A fresh perspective after a tough day, or even a great day for that matter can be the difference in your bottom line. Anyways, on to today’s picks:

Washington ML (+109) $200 to win $218

The Brewers are returning home after a successful road trip out west. Milwaukee has maintained their lead in the NL Central and are looking to beat another division leader tonight. But the Nationals will be up to the task and I believe they come away with a win tonight.

Gio Gonzalez makes his 2nd start tonight since returning from the DL and Washington is hoping he starts to round into form tonight. The Nats are 8-3 SU after their last 11 wins overall and have a 18-4 SU run going when Gonzalez starts the opener of a series. Washington is also 15-3 SU with him on the hill against an NL Central opponent and with a 4-1 SU record in their last five games here in Milwaukee, they’ll come away with the win tonight.

St Louis/Colorado Under 10.5 (-110) $220 to win $200

After the scoring barrage we saw at Coors Field over the weekend, many are expecting more of the same tonight. But the Cards have one of the best pitching staffs in the league and won’t be induced into a slugfest with the Rockies.

NYY/Toronto Under 4.5 First 5 (+100) $300 to win $300

I originally had a write up prepared for this game Under 9, but with the line moving to 8.5 now it’s time to go to the first 5 innings line. Toronto is without Bautista and Lawrie tonight and with two young studs on the hill we aren’t likely to see many runs early on tonight. Add in the heavy competition both teams have going right now for the AL East lead and we should see a low-scoring first half from these two teams.

(as a side note, if you can find under 9 or buy points on the total for the full game, I would suggest that as a play too.
