It’s been quite a run for my Top Plays as I hit another one last night to go to 9-0-1 on my last 10. Overall it was a 2-0 night for me on the diamond with Baltimore and Pittsburgh bringing home victories and I’m hopping to keep the good vibes going tonight. We’ve got Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final along with a full baseball board so let’s dive right in.

All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts “to win” on favorites and flat on underdogs

LAA/Atlanta Over 7.5 (-101) $303 to win $300

When I began looking at the card this morning I perked up when I saw who was starting on the road tonight for the Angels. Yes, it’s my favorite pitcher C.J Wilson making another start away from home where he’s gone 28-4-3 O/U in his last 35 starts away from home. Wilson’s Angels have won five of six overall and nearly everyone in their lineup has hit Harang hard throughout his career. Pujols alone has 27 hits in 79 at-bats, but guys like Freese, Hamilton and Trout all have .467 or better batting averages lifetime against Harang with at least nine at-bats for all of them.

But this play is all about Wilson’s O/U record on the road and until it starts to burn me regularly, I’ll always be looking out for his road starts.

Cincinnati ML (+106) $200 to win $212

This is a huge series for the Reds as they trail the Brewers by eight games in the NL Central standings and need to make up ground this weekend. Cincinnati already took three of four from the Brewers earlier this season so they know they can beat this team, but with a 4-1 SU record in their last five on the road and an identical 4-1 SU record in their last five as a road dog, tonight’s a good spot for them.

Secondly, we can’t ignore the line movement on this game as this line opened up as high as +126 for Cincinnati and has been driven down to it’s current price. That’s with only 48% of the bets coming in on the Reds so I have no problem following this move tonight.

Texas ML (+174) $200 to win $348

King Felix is not a guy I like to go against too often, but he is long overdue for a tough outing and the Rangers have already beaten him in Seattle once (6-3) this year. As a team, Texas has some great career numbers against Hernandez with Andrus (21-for-71), Choo (8-for-30), Beltre (10-for-31) and Martin (8-for-23) all having .267 averages or better against him and with a day off to refresh their bodies yesterday, I think Texas finds a way to come out on top tonight.
