I got back in the win column with the Eagles last night as that NFL-X game kicked off what will be a very busy weekend in sports. We’ve got a full MLB card, five NFL-X games, and even a CFL game on the board tonight and D Rock and I have loaded up a six-pack of premium plays for our subscribers. If you haven’t already signed up make sure you jump on board to get those plays.
As for my free plays tonight, I’m touching on a bit of everything tonight.
All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts ‘to win’ on favorites and flat on underdogs

Philadelphia ML (+143) $200 to win $286
Wainwright’s been a guy I’ve loved to go against since the All Star break and that doesn’t change here. Wainwright and the Cards have nearly 90% of the action backing them tonight yet the line has dropped from -170 to -155 as the books clearly don’t mind the public coming in and taking the heavy road favorite. Reverse line movement like that is something I love to see on the board, especially with a home dog and I’ll take this Philly team that nobody wants tonight.
Tampa Bay ML (+108) $300 to win $324
Toronto is slowly watch this season slip from their grasp as the Orioles continue to build on their large lead in the AL East and there are just too many other teams Toronto’s competing with for that final wildcard spot. The Rays are in town to play spoiler and with lefty Drew Smyly on the hill, he and the Rays should have some success.
Toronto is 0-4 SU after a day off and 1-5 SU in their last six games as a favorite. Young Marcus Stroman has been a revelation for the Jays this year but with desperate, meaningful games on his plate the rest of the way I think he struggles under the pressure. This is another game that has reverse line movement in action with the majority on Toronto and the line moving in Tampa’s favor and with the Rays season a lost cause, they are out to ruin the hopes of all their AL East rivals.
NFL-X Play
Oakland +7 (+104) $200 to win $208
When was the last time you saw Green Bay care about the results of a preseason game other than to make sure Aaron Rodgers stays healthy? Yes the Packers are the much better team on paper and will finish the season with a better record than the Raiders but none of those things are relevant in a preseason game. The Pack are grabbing a ton of public love tonight as touchdown favorites and I think many are just late to the party here. Green Bay beat up on the Rams last week when they weren’t getting much love after a dismal Week 1 performance and now everyone’s back on board. I just don’t see it and am siding with the books here by taking the points.
CFL play
Montreal Alouettes ML (+235) $200 to win $470
Call it a hunch, call it what you will, but the 1-6 SU Alouettes are in a good spot for an outright win tonight with no one believing they’ll ever win a game. Their offense started to look like a professional offense last two weeks as they moved the ball against tough Saskatchewan and Edmonton teams and will be in sync again tonight.
This is also a revenge game for the Alouettes after the Blue Bombers came into Montreal in early July and scored the go-ahead TD with 29 seconds left to win 34-33. That loss hasn’t left the memory banks of these Montreal players and it’s their turn for payback. The 33 points they put up on Winnipeg was Montreal’s highest point total of the season by far and while I’m not sure we will see them put up that many points again, they will be able to score against this overrated Winnipeg team.
