With all the hype today surrounding Durant’s decision to join the Warriors, I am taking the opportunity to play against all the hype as the market has adjusted significantly to his decision, which has offered up great value and Warrior props to invest on.

I expect this new team to take some time to adjust and build chemistry together.  The Warriors will have a huge target on their backs from last seasons run and now this new “Power 4” is also a target that teams will want to take a swipe at.  Opposing teams in the West are building their teams this off-season to attack this Warriors squad for next.  With the risk to play an “over” on season wins comes injuries and you just never know what could happen during the year.  This Warriors team coming off a record breaking year and have all the momentum with back-to-back playoff runs with one championship and now you go and ruin your chemistry with another hungry ball handler who wants the rock just as much as the next star on the team.  We saw this year how badly the Warriors wanted to break the Bulls record and how it almost cost them in the playoffs (well didn’t cap off the perfect season losing in the end to the Cavs).  The Warriors were tested early, looked tired (not resting starters down the stretch), lost Curry early to injury, so all this could be a sign to Head Coach Kerr not to make the same mistake twice.  This could potentially lead to resting starters more often and some late season loses that could not get the Warriors over the 68 win mark.  This will be interesting to see how this plays out and how Durant will fit into Curry’s team, but for now I have found great value in playing the field to win the title and for the Warriors to not come close to another record breaking year.
