Thursday August 28th Betting Action

Neither of my two big dogs could come through for me last night as they cut into some of my recent gains. One bad inning cost the Cubs in their game vs. Cincinnati and the D-Backs missed cashing in on some great early opportunities against Kershaw in the 3rd and 4th inning. It's been a very busy day here at D-Rock Sports with the college football season finally starting, the NFL preseason wrapping up and MLB still going on. Personally, I avoid all betting during Week 4 of the NFL preseason because it's just too hard to really get a grasp on what players will get the majority of the time and I'd rather just pass altogether. However, I do have a free play for you all in MLB and CFB tonight and we've also got five premiums locked in for our subscribers (4 in CFB). So let's get right to the action. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post All Star Break: 28-31 (+$508) CFL YTD: 6-7 (+$34) NFL-X YTD: 2-3 ATS (-$26) NCAAF YTD: 0-0 ATS MLB Play Texas Rangers ML (+126) $300 to win $378 The Houston Astros in one way or another (play on or fade) have made my free play card quite often this year. I've consistently said that they are a team you can find tremendous value with when they are a decent-sized underdog and one you should look to avoid when they are laying chalk. The latter is the case tonight and after coughing up the lead in the 9th to Oakland last night, [...]

Wednesday August 27th Betting Action

Managed to keep the momentum going last night with my two free plays as they did split with a 1-1 mark, but my top play on the Red Sox was once again a winner. This Toronto team is one or two more losses away from completely turning on each other and completely sinking, so it will be interesting to see how they perform in the coming days with the Yankees coming to town after this series. Toronto comes in as favorites again tonight and although I said I'd be fading the Jays a lot the rest of the way, tonight's not one of those games. I happy to collect my two wins with Boston from this series and move elsewhere on the board because I actually believe Toronto's got enough fight left in them to pull out a W and give their remaining hopeful fans a little longer to believe. I'm going elsewhere on the MLB board tonight so let's get right to the free plays. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post All Star Break: 28-29 (+$1008) CFL YTD: 6-7 (+$34) NFL-X YTD: 2-3 (-$26) MLB Plays Chicago Cubs ML (+150) $300 to win $450 The Cincinnati Reds are the NL version of the Toronto Blue Jays. A team that had high hopes entering the year, had a few good stretches at times, hurt by injuries, and now watching their season slip right out from under them. The Reds are almost resigned to their fate of missing the playoffs once again and just like the Jays will be a [...]
