Wednesday September 24th Betting Action

I managed to get an easy win with my lone free play last night as Felix Hernandez's career struggles against the Jays continued and one crooked number was all we needed to push that total well over the 7 number. My two premium plays were looking good for a sweep as well at about 11:00 EST when it was 3-2 early on in the Giants/Dodgers game, but they combined for only one more run the rest of the way and it cost me a perfect night. It's back to the diamond for today's selections, so let's get right to them. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 45-42 (+$2659) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-6 ATS (+$229)  NFL YTD: 4-6 ATS (-$557) Free MLB picks Houston/Texas Over 8.5 (+104) $300 to win $300 It's the last meeting between these two before a very long offseason for both franchises and after two straight 'unders' to start this series, I believe both offenses go out with a bang. First off, we've got a young pitcher in Lisalverto Bonilla making his third start for the Rangers this season and he's been a huge benefactor of run support so far. Texas has scored an average of 7.5/game with Bonilla on the hill and although that number is a bit skewed after the 12 they put up on LAA in his last start, I don't think anything he throws will fool this Astros lineup. Secondly, the Rangers have been playing some great baseball of late and they are 6-1 O/U the [...]

Tuesday September 23rd Betting Action

Tough night all-around as my free plays managed to earn me a bit of dough with a split, but watching the Jets offense was frustrating beyond belief and they cost me my final NFL premium of Week 3. A 3-3 ATS week with NFL premium doesn't hurt as much when Week 2 finished with a 5-1 ATS mark, but I've already begun breaking down next week's games as I look to get back in the win column during Week 4. Tonight the only sport in town is MLB, so lets get right to the free selections. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 44-42 (+$2359) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-6 ATS (+$229)  NFL YTD: 4-6 ATS (-$557) MLB plays Seattle/Toronto Over 7 (+100) $300 to win $300 Toronto brought out their heavy bats to put on a show last night in the series opener, jumping out to a huge lead early and never looking back. It won't be nearly as easy against King Felix tonight, but Hernandez has had his share of rough outings in Rogers Centre during his career and I'm leaning on tonight being another one of those nights. In Hernandez's last six starts @ Toronto, he's got a 4-0 win, an 8-3 loss, a 1-0 loss, a 5-4 win, a 2-1 win and an 8-0 loss. This is a place where he's always struggled to find a consistent groove to latch on to and with the Jays looking to play spoiler this week, the pressure of the playoff chase will likely have [...]

Monday September 22nd Betting Action

It was a ho-hum weekend on the gridiron for me as my CFB premium plays went 4-6 ATS while I noted that my free play from Friday on Florida State was cancelled/bought off once it was announced that Winston would be out for the entire game. That OT win for the Seminoles have a lot of people doubting them the rest of the way with their future National Championship odds dropping, as did their opening number for this week's game. I believe we could see plenty of value in them going forward but that discussion is for another day. In the NFL, my free plays were 1-1 ATS as the Browns lost on the final play, while my premium plays went 3-2 on Sunday with one for tonight's MNF game still pending. If you are looking to get on it, signing up is easy here at D Rock Sports and with a great start to the football season under my belt, now is a great time to get on board. It's on to tonight's free plays though as I head back to the diamond for the most part with the final week of the MLB season kicking off tonight. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 43-42 (+$2059) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-6 ATS (+$229)  NFL YTD: 4-5 ATS (-$345) NFL Free plays Chicago/NYJ Under 45 (-106) $212 to win $200 This isn't a popular pick with 75% of the action backing the high side of this total, but I'm siding with the odds [...]

Thursday September 18th Betting Action

It was a tough 0-2 night on the diamond for me on Wednesday as both of my total selections were off. I had a feeling it would be a rougher day when there was nothing on the board that jumped out at me for a premium selection, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. We've got football action back already and I know D Rock has released two premium plays on tonight's NFL game to his subscribers, so if you are looking for action on that game, go over there and sign up to get his top selections. I've got a premium play that I released last night for tonight's college football game, so it's back to the diamond with my free plays today as I try and get back those losses from yesterday. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 42-41 (+$2183) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-5 ATS (+$529) NFL YTD: 3-4 ATS (-$333) MLB Plays New York Yankees (-116) $232 to win $200 After getting swept by Baltimore, I think the players on the Jays are finally seeing the writing on the wall. I've said that despite efforts by media and fans to state that the Jays were going to be in it, they've never really had a chance and now it's almost official. Toronto has been brutal in series openers (5-16 SU) and nearly just as bad on the road against good teams the past two months, so I'm going back to fading them with this play tonight. New York [...]

Wednesday September 17th Betting Action

It was a solid 2-0 day for me on the diamond with my free picks on Tuesday with the Cubs winning in a route and the Dodgers and Rockies combining for another high-scoring affair. Last night we also saw both East divisions get clinched as the Orioles and Nationals punched their ticket to the playoffs. Fading a team (in any sport) after they clinched a division is a tried and true betting strategy I've used for years but the lines on Toronto and Atlanta have gotten away from us a bit. I still like both of those teams in that spot tonight if you are looking to add some plays to your card, but I'm going elsewhere on tonight's MLB board with my official free picks. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 42-39 (+$2683) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-5 ATS (+$529) NFL YTD: 3-4 ATS (-$333) MLB free plays Miami/NYM Under 6.5 (+108) $200 to win $216 Cleveland/Houston Over 8 (+115) $300 to win $316 I've grouped these plays together as both fit the system of playing Game 3's/series finales on the other side of the total if the first two games in the series had the same result. Miami and the Mets have gone 'over' in both of their games so far as the Marlins get ready to head home, while Cleveland and Houston have played two low-scoring games but have a Game 4 on tap tomorrow. I'm always a little hesitant to apply this system to a Game 3 when there [...]
