Friday October 3rd Betting Action

It was an ugly night for my premium plays  but I managed to salvage some of the night with my top free play on the Orioles winning Game 1 of their ALDS. I just finished watching Baltimore have another great 8th inning in their comeback win today as they now head to Detroit in complete control of that series.  If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that a few hours before that Game 1 between the Tigers and O's got going I said I like Baltimore to win that series and I definitely like my position with that play now. The Giants and Nats are playing right now, but it's the other two MLB playoff today that have made my free card. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 47-43 (+$2817) MLB Playoffs : 1-0 (+$321) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-10 ATS (-$629)  NFL YTD: 5-8 ATS (-$798) MLB Playoffs St Louis ML (+170) $300 to win $510 Can't help but take the value with Wainwright in this game tonight as this line is a little out of whack in my opinion. Yes Kershaw is the best pitcher in the majors this year, but Wainwright is no slouch and can match Kershaw out for out if it comes down to that. With a total of 5. 5 you know runs will be at a premium tonight and if the Cardinals can give Wainwright some support rather than force him to get into the 8th in a 0-0 game like they did in his lone start [...]

MLB Playoffs Future Bets

With the division series all set now and kicking off in a few hours, I thought I'd give you all two free MLB Futures bets to follow this October. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 47-43 (+$2817) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-9 ATS (-$413)  NFL YTD: 5-8 ATS (-$798) Pick #1: L.A Dodgers to win NLDS over St Louis (-185) Nothing like a great series rematch from last year's NLCS when the Cardinals beat L.A 4-2 to advance to the World Series. The Dodgers have not forgotten how close they were to the promised land last year and with home field advantage in this shorter five-game set and a better all-around team the Dodgers will get past the Cardinals this year. Typically I don't like laying this time of juice on any play, but this revenge spot is too good to pass up since the Dodgers went 4-3 SU against the Red Birds this season. St Louis isn't near as good as they were last season as their offense struggles mightily at times as they have a hard time scoring runs. If St Louis isn't shutting down teams in 2-1, 3-2 type games, the losses can pile up and if their bats are cold early on they'll be lucky to get 2-3 runs a game against the starters L.A is throwing out there. Kershaw and Greinke get the nod for the first two games at L.A and although Kershaw is up against another legitimate ace who's been there before in Wainwright, the Cards are 0-3 SU in his last [...]

Thursday October 2nd Betting Action

I took yesterday off to prepare for this upcoming weekend full of action on the gridiron and diamond, but it was nice to cash an easy free play (and premium) winner on the Over 6.5 in that wild Oakland/KC game on Tuesday. The Royals are back at it tonight as they start their series with L.A now and you've got to wonder how much energy the Royals will have 48 hours after that emotional and exciting win. We've also got four football games going tonight (3 in CFB and 1 in NFL) and it's there where my three premium plays that were sent to clients come from. It's not to late to sign up if you'd like to jump on board, but I've still got a couple of free plays for you all tonight. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 47-43 (+$2817) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-9 ATS (-$413)  NFL YTD: 5-8 ATS (-$798) MLB Playoffs Baltimore ML (+107) $300 to win $321 When you've got a big name pitching staff like the Tigers do with Scherzer, Price and Verlander, it's no surprise to me that a team like that would enter a 5-game series as the prohibitive favorites. These guys are big names that have each won a Cy Young over the last few seasons and pitching and defense is typically what carries you deep in the MLB playoffs. But this Tigers team is very suspect defensively and their bullpen is trash, so if those guys don't pitch into at least the [...]

MLB Playoffs: Wildcard History and AL Preview

The MLB playoffs are 24 hours away with the AL Wildcard game getting things started. Oakland managed to stave off a monumental 2nd half collapse by clinching their spot in this game on the final day of play, but they've now got to head to Kansas City for the right to take on the Angels in the divisional round. KC is back in the playoffs for the first time as a franchise since 1985 and you've got to wonder if this young team might get swallowed up by the big stage. Over in the National League, the Giants are back in the playoffs this year as they head up to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates on Wednesday. Pittsburgh used home field advantage to their favor last season with a 6-2 win over the Reds in the wildcard game and with the valuable post-season experience this franchise gained last year and the Giants recent history (2X World Series Champs since 2010), this should be a great do-or-die game. The current wildcard format of a one-game playoff has only been in use for two seasons, but the visitors in those games are 3-1 SU. That number includes a 2-0 SU record for road teams in the AL's version of the game which is definitely good news for Oakland. Last year's Pirates team was the only home team to move on in this format and they are hoping to do the same thing this season. As far as favorites vs. underdogs go, we've got a 2-2 SU record for both as the underdogs went a perfect 2-0 SU in 2012 during the wildcard games while the favorites bounced back with a 2-0 SU mark themselves last season. Friday September 26th Betting Action

Yesterday was a day of mixed emotions as my premium plays went a perfect 4-0 (NYG, Texas Tech, UCLA and Over) but I couldn't get it done with my free plays (0-2) for all the readers out there. I've got three premium plays ready for tonight and sent out to members, but it's not too late to sign up and jump on board. As far as free plays go tonight, there isn't much out there that I'm really seeing in terms of great value, so instead, I'm going to stick with the tried and true system of flipping flopping the results in the 2nd game of a double header. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records MLB Pre All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post All Star Break: 45-43 (+$2359) CFL YTD: 6-8 (-$266) NCAAF YTD: 8-7 ATS (+$17)  NFL YTD: 4-7 ATS (-$872) MLB Free Plays Miami ML (+129) $200 to win $258 Miami/Washington Over 7.5 (+100) $200 to win $200 Not going to grade either of these plays as a top one for the day, but I do think we see some runs scored in the 2nd part of this double header. Washington won this afternoon's game by a 4-0 score and with two young pitchers on the hill in Andrew Heaney and Taylor Hill, there will be some runs scored. Hill has yet to get a start this year since being called up, but he has given up 6 hits in 4.1 innings of work and has a WHIP of 1.62. Those aren't impressive numbers by any means and with some young guys scattered throughout [...]
