Friday June 13th Betting Action

It's been quite a run for my Top Plays as I hit another one last night to go to 9-0-1 on my last 10. Overall it was a 2-0 night for me on the diamond with Baltimore and Pittsburgh bringing home victories and I'm hopping to keep the good vibes going tonight. We've got Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final along with a full baseball board so let's dive right in. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 10-13-3 (-$217) MLB YTD: 60-62-8 (+$1475) MLB Plays LAA/Atlanta Over 7.5 (-101) $303 to win $300 When I began looking at the card this morning I perked up when I saw who was starting on the road tonight for the Angels. Yes, it's my favorite pitcher C.J Wilson making another start away from home where he's gone 28-4-3 O/U in his last 35 starts away from home. Wilson's Angels have won five of six overall and nearly everyone in their lineup has hit Harang hard throughout his career. Pujols alone has 27 hits in 79 at-bats, but guys like Freese, Hamilton and Trout all have .467 or better batting averages lifetime against Harang with at least nine at-bats for all of them. But this play is all about Wilson's O/U record on the road and until it starts to burn me regularly, I'll always be looking out for his road starts. Cincinnati ML (+106) $200 to win $212 This is a huge series for the Reds as they trail the Brewers by eight games in the NL Central standings and need to make up ground [...]

Thursday June 12 Betting Action

Overall it was a 1-2 night last night to make for a small losing day after yet another play of the day was the only winner. That makes it eight in a row on my top play so I hope everyone is getting involved on those bets. I won't be able to win them all, but it's a good feeling when you are winning your bigger bets more often than not. It's back to the diamond tonight with my plays as I hope to keep this good run going. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 10-13-3 (-$217) MLB YTD: 58-62-8 (+$875) MLB plays Pittsburgh ML (-118) $354 to win $300 The Pirates are looking to take three of four from the Cubs tonight but they'll be in tough against Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija. Samardzija has had some terrible luck for Chicago all year though as the Cubs are 3-10 SU in his starts despite having a 2.54 ERA. He's a hot commodity on the trade market and will probably be wearing different colors come August. But for now it's all about taking the better team at a short price tonight as Pittsburgh looks to end this seven-game homestand with a winning record. They are 10-4 SU in the last 14 games against the Cubs and are 8-3 SU in their last 11 as a favorite of -150 or less. They've done well against quality pitching of late too with a 6-0 SU mark the last six times they've faced a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.15 or lower and they've also got a 5-0 [...]

Wednesday June 11th Betting Action

Tuesday was another profitable day as a 2-0 night (one postponed) helps me grow my MLB record back into the positives again and gives up some room to play with profits. The Cubs jumped all over Liriano as their good hitting numbers continued against left-handed pitching and the over 10 in Atlanta/Colorado wasn't even a sweat as it was 7-3 after the first inning. Easy winners like that always make you feel good but it's not always going to be that easy and you have to keep grinding away to make money in this industry. It's on to tonight's board with MLB and Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the card, with diamonds getting most of my attention. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 10-13-3 (-$217) MLB YTD: 57-60-8 (+$936) MLB Plays Boston/Baltimore Over 8.5 (-109) $218 to win $200 The Red Sox and Orioles have split the opening two games of this series with each win coming via the shutout. Both games have gone 'under' the total because of that and I believe that changes tonight in the series finale. Boston has seen Chen twice already this season and hit him hard both times. The Red Sox were only 1-1 SU in those games, but Chen never lasted longer than 5.2 innings in games that finished 4-3 Boston and 7-6 Baltimore. Chen has allowed 5 runs/ game over his last three outings, but has gotten six runs of support in those games from his teammates so it's not like he's hung out to dry out there. The O's are [...]

Tuesday June 10th Betting Action

It was a profitable 2-1 day for my picks last night as the 'under' finally came in on a Stanley Cup Finals game with the Kings grabbing a stranglehold on the series. L.A is one win away from their second Stanley Cup in three years and they look poised to do it quickly. My baseball selections went 1-1 but it was my play of the day on 'over' 9.5 runs in Cleveland/Texas that had cashed by the 3rd inning. Easy winners like that are always great but it's not always about what you've done in this business it's about what you are doing today. I'm looking to provide more winners for you tonight with MLB action and the NBA Finals playing it's third game. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 10-13-3 (-$217) MLB YTD: 55-60-8 (+$350) MLB Plays Chicago Cubs ML (+143) $200 to win $286 The Cubs dropped Game 1 of this series 6-2 yesterday and are looking to even it up tonight. They send young lefty Travis Wood to the hill and in a rare anomaly of the season, this will only be the 7th time all year Pittsburgh has face a southpaw starter. The Pirates have done alright against the previous six, but nothing to warrant the heavy chalk they are laying tonight. Conversely, Chicago has pounded left-handed pitching all year (.270 team average) and are 4-1 SU in their last five on the road against southpaw starters. Chicago is also 4-1 SU in Wood's last five starts overall and I like their chances to even things up with [...]

Monday June 9th Betting Action

It was a 1-1-1 day yesterday with my top play on over in Oakland/Baltimore cashing, Texas losing, and my total on the Dodgers game becoming void after the game was cut short due to weather. For those wondering about how bets work on games like that, totals must go at least 8.5 innings to be official while sides only need to go the requisite five innings to declare a winner. That's something to keep in mind should you be betting on games with questionable weather. There is baseball and Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the card tonight so let's get right to the picks. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 9-13-3 (-$417) MLB YTD: 54-59-8 (+$280) MLB Plays Cincinnati ML (-115) $230 to win $200 The Reds dropped two of three out in L.A a few weeks back but as this four-game series starts the Reds are out for revenge. I've talked about Cincinnati's struggles this season against left-handed pitching, but the Dodgers actually have a worse average (.206) against southpaw starters. Tony Cingrani has run into some sophomore struggles so far this year but when he is on, he's got some of the best stuff in the National League. Cincinnati is 5-1 SU in their last six against a right-handed starter and they are 4-1 SU after their last five victories. Dan Haren has been good for L.A this season but he is far from special and the Dodgers are 0-4 SU in his last four starts. That run goes to 0-5 SU when Haren is up against [...]
