Saturday July 19th Betting Action

Thanks to a blown save from a closer and a botched FG late to tie the game, a potential 4-0 night turned into a 2-2 one here on D Rock Sports. Baltimore had their game with Oakland all wrapped up before Josh Donaldson came in and smacked a three-run walk-off HR. Hamilton was in position to tie the game with a chip shot FG and the holder botched the ball, giving the Ti-Cats a 10-7 loss. That loss was still good enough to cover the spread and the Indians used a late rally themselves to blow away the Tigers, so it was still a profitable night for me. It's on to today though as I look to keep the winners coming. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post-All Star Break: 1-1 (+$211) CFL YTD: 1-2: ($0) MLB Plays LA/St Louis Over 7.5 (+110) $200 to win $220 Zack Greinke squares off with Joe Kelly tonight in Game 2 of this series after the Cardinals eeked out a 3-2 win last night. Of the five games these two have played this year, four have stayed under the total, but that lone over came when Greinke was on the mound. L.A blew away the Cards 9-1 that day and with Joe Kelly making only his fifth start of the year, I like LA's chances of putting up a few runs again today. I say that because Kelly lasted only three innings in his return from the DL last week when the Brewers lit him up for six runs on seven hits. He's a [...]

Friday July 18th Betting Action

After a strong week, it was a disastrous last day of the first half of baseball for me. An 0-4 Sunday stung badly and the All-Star break was a welcomed occurrence. I'm happy to be back at it tonight though and with it being Friday, I've found another CFL play I really like for you football fans. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post-All Star Break: 0-0  CFL YTD: 0-1 (-200) MLB plays Cleveland ML (+137) $300 to win $411 The Indians start the second half trailing the Tigers by 7.5 games in the AL Central so this is a must-win series for them right out of the gate. Detroit went into Cleveland at the end of June and brought the brooms out on the Tribe, so Cleveland does have the revenge angle on their side tonight, but that's not the only reason I've jumped on this play. First, off, we've seen some movement on this line in Cleveland's favor despite being in the minority. That's always a good sign when you are playing decent teams as underdogs and tonight should be no different. As a team Cleveland is 4-0 SU the last four times they've been a dog of +150 or less and they are 4-1 SU in their last five as a dog of any price. Trevor Bauer has been stellar in this role too as he's 5-2 SU the last seven times he's been a dog of +150 or less. With the revenge angle and motivation clearly on the side of Cleveland tonight as they try to catch [...]

Sunday July 13th Betting Action

It was another solid 3-1 day for me on Saturday with another top play (on the Dodgers) cashing for me. It's been a good little run for me with those top plays at 7-1-2 over my last 10, but I'm looking to end the first half of the MLB season on a high note today. It's the ultimate getaway day for players as the majority of them have three full days off away from the team, the game and the hotel rooms, ans will be able to spend some quality time with their families. That means we shouldn't expect too many games to last long tonight as the players are going to make the most of their free time. In fact, on this day (final day before All-star break) we've seen 'unders' go 14-27-4 the past three seasons, so expect a lot of games to stay low. Those records were 6-9 O/U (2013), 4-9-2 O/U (2012), and 4-9-2 O/U (2011), so with numbers like that I wouldn't be opposed to placing a bet on every single 'under' today and look to be up a few units. However, I'm hoping to find the best ones for you with my plays today so we can head into the downtime with some padded bankrolls. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB YTD: 101-103-13 (+$1646) CFL YTD: 0-1 (-$200) MLB Plays  Boston/Houston Under 8.5 (-113) $339 to win $300 There's no team in the majors that are more free-swinging than the Houston Astros as they rely heavily on the HR ball to score the majority of their runs. Houston is 1-5 O/U the last [...]

Saturday July 12th Betting Action

A solid 3-1 night for me on Friday, although my first foray into CFL betting this year didn't go as planned. It's the final weekend of action in MLB before the All-Star break and that means you won't see me on too many 'overs' the rest of the weekend. After a long grinding season so far, guys are already looking ahead to this brief vacation with their families. That means patience at the plate tends to go out the window. Finally, it's the 3rd place game in the World Cup today and although I won't include a pick on the game in this article, you just have to read this piece  to know what I'm on for that contest. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB YTD: 98-102-13 (+$1126) CFL YTD: 0-1 (-200) MLB Plays Chicago/Cleveland Under 8.5 (+110) $200 to win $220 This is the first game off the board today after the Indians won 7-4 as heavy favorites last night. Cleveland recalled Zach McAllister from the minors to make this start and they are hoping his time down there helped him fix some mechanical issues and regain his confidence. McAllister is looking to reward management's decision to bring him back with a strong performance today and against the free-swinging White Sox he's got a great opportunity to do so. Chicago starter Scott Carroll was great in his last start, shutting out the Red Sox through 6.2 innings of work in an eventual 4-0 win. Carroll has been up and down all year, but he's got a much better ERA during the day (1.62) and his numbers are [...]

Friday July 11th Betting Action

It was a tough 1-3-1 night last night as my shot with the Padres didn't pay off. It was the losing side, but San Diego did everything they could to lose that game as 4 errors ended up being the difference in a 2-1 game. My play on Texas couldn't have been worse and I missed out on numerous chances to get 1 more run in San Francisco to turn that push into a winner. It's on to tonight's action though and for those that are excited for football, I've got a play in the CFL play on tonight's board. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB YTD: 95-102-13 (+326) MLB Plays Pittsburgh/Cincinnati Over 7.5 (-115) $345 to win $300 I'm going against the majority here as this total has moved up from the key number of 7 despite having 80% or more of the betting action all day on the low side. Everyone is liking the under because the Reds are without some of their big name players, but they've scored 4+ in their last six games and with the Pirates bats coming alive in a 9-1 win last night, this game should sail well over this total. NYY/Baltimore Under 8.5 (-107) $214 to win $200 Siding with the movement here as coming off that key number of 9 is something I can't ignore. Seattle ML (-135) $405 to win $300 It's not often you get King Felix as a home favorite at this short price, but against the best team in the majors (Oakland), that's the situation. Oakland is 1-8 SU the last nine times they've [...]
