Wednesday August 6th Betting Action

I've had back-to-back 1-2 days to start the week, but thankfully both of those wins came via the Top Play to mitigate those losses. Philly was able to get that win in 15 innings for me last night while both Boston and Atlanta squandered multiple opportunities in their respective games. It's on to tonight's board though as I'm excited to get back in the win column with these selections tonight. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB post-All Star Break: 17-17 (+$1077) CFL YTD: 5-5 (+$352) MLB plays Philadelphia ML (-138) $276 to win $200 I'm coming back with the Phillies tonight after they won for me yesterday as I just don't have much faith in Houston on the road. Like I said yesterday, the Astros are a team I've loved backing in certain spots this season when the price is right, but once that bandwagon feels a little full after a good run I have no problem jumping off and going against Houston. That good run happened last week vs. Oakland and Toronto and it's time to go against Houston once again tonight. Philly starter David Buchanan has pitched much better recently and is coming off an impressive seven inning, one-run, four-hit victory over Milwaukee. The Astros are a free-swinging bunch and with Buchanan being much better control-wise in his last couple of outings and eliminating those free passes, he'll be able to command the strike zone and get the Astros to swing at some bad pitches. Philly is 4-1 SU in their last five at home and with Houston starter [...]

Tuesday August 5th Betting Action

It was a 1-2 day on Monday with my free plays, thankfully that one win came with the Angels as my top play. You never like losing days, but when you can minimize the loss with a big play cashing it gives you the energy to come back the next day even better. That's what I'm hoping my plays do for you (and us) tonight as we've got a full MLB card to pick from tonight with reverse line movement being the theme of the day. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post-All Star Break: 16-15 (+$1174) CFL YTD: 5-5 (+$352) MLB plays Philadelphia ML (+101) $300 to win $303 Many of you know I've been a huge proponent of Houston this year, but after a good run for the Astros last week it feels like too many people are jumping on board now. Houston took two of three from the A's and three of four from the Jays last week and after a day off they are getting about 60% of the action as a road favorite. Think about that for a second: Houston is a road favorite and they are getting the money. The problem is, for as bad as Kyle Kendrick has been for the Phillies, the line is moving in his direction and given he and his teammates are at home, I like the way this game is setting up for them. Sure, they were shutout in back-to-back losses against the Nats this weekend, but a day off for them had to help regroup as they play out the [...]

Monday August 4th Betting Action

After being away for the weekend to address some personal things, it's time to get right back at it tonight with a smaller MLB board. It was a solid 3-1 night on Friday with my four selections across two sports (MLB, CFL) and I'm looking to keep that momentum rolling into this week. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post-All Star Break: 15-13 (+$1235) CFL YTD: 5-5 (+$352) MLB plays Cincinnati ML (+192) $200 to win $384 Cincinnati took three of four from the Marlins over the weekend as the Reds don't appear to be giving up on this season quite yet. They are still without most of their big names, but the offense started to produce against the Marlins. Cincy's bats are in tough against Cleveland ace Corey Kluber tonight, but the young Indians pitcher is in a tough spot tonight and is overpriced. Kluber out-dueled King Felix in his last start en route to a complete game shutout win (2-0). You know here at D Rock Sports we love to go against these pitchers in their next start and tonight isn't any different. All I've seen today during my research is how badly the Reds have struggled here in Cleveland the past few years, but that all changes tonight with the Reds cashing as a big dog. Texas ML (+123) $200 to win $246 The White Sox are another AL Central team I don't believe should be favored too often unless Chris Sale is on the hill. It's Hector Noesi tonight and with the Sox bullpen taxed after a [...]

Friday August 1st Betting Action

Thankfully the calendar flipped over to August today and out of July as the last 10 days have been a very rough stretch for us at D Rock Sports. Of my three top plays yesterday I had an easy winner in the Seattle/Cleveland game, lost another on a 9th inning HR by Toronto, and dropped my CFL play on the final snap of the game. The bounces clearly aren't going my way right now and I'm hoping the change over to August will help things start falling my way. It's a full card of MLB action tonight with two games going in the CFL, I have a nice card shaping up for you all. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts 'to win' on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post-All Star Break: 13-13 (+$613) CFL YTD: 4-4 (+$252) MLB plays  Milwaukee ML (+137) $300 to win $411 Huge series for both teams as they are in a tough battle for 1st in the NL Central. Milwaukee holds a two-game lead right now on the Cardinals, but after dropping two of three to St Louis (in Milwaukee) before the All-Star break, the Brewers are out for revenge tonight and in this series. Milwaukee is up against Adam Wainwright tonight who pitched wonderfully in his last outing against the Cubs. But the start previous to that he got roughed up by the Rays. He's a pitcher who's had his confidence rattled every since the All-Star break and with a 2-5 SU record the last seven times he's been favored by -150 or less, there is a lot of value in the Brewers [...]

Thursday July 31st Betting Action

Another rough day for my plays yesterday as the losses continue to mount. An 0-2 day was the end result but at least with both plays being underdogs I didn't get buried by juice. It's onward and upward though after a busy trade deadline day in MLB as I've got a couple of baseball plays for you tonight, along with thoughts on the CFL game. Since we've been struggling the past week with our premium plays, I'm putting them all in today's write up for free as $300 plays. You can fade or follow them. Let's hope we cash a few of them tonight. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB Pre-All Star Break: 101-107-13 (+$691) MLB Post-All Star Break: 12-11 (+$813) CFL YTD: 4-3 (+$588) MLB plays Seattle/Cleveland Over 8.5 (-105) $315 to win $300 Nine straight overs now for the Mariners but they got that boost from management today as they went out and got some offensive help in the form of Austin Jackson and Chris Denorfia. Neither will be playing tonight (Jackson was pulled int he 6th inning of Detroit's game this afternoon), but knowing management is behind you to win now is a jolt of energy through the locker room. The last time Seattle did go 'over' a total was when Chris Young started so we've got that going for us too. Cleveland's Zach McAllister is on the hill and he's got an 8-2-1 O/U run going in his last 11 starts as a home favorite of -150 or less. As a team the Indians are 9-3 O/U as a home favorite in that [...]
