Lost my play of the day by about a minute as the Thunder and Grizzlies just eclipsed the total in the final minute of action. I did go 2 for 3 with my MLB selections to help cut into that early deficit and it’s on the diamond where all of my plays tonight are coming from.

MLB Plays
Chicago/Cleveland Over 8.5 (-110) $330 to win $300
This play is all about fading a White Sox pitching staff that is one of the worst in the majors and has been getting hit hard by everyone. Chicago’s pitching staff has an ERA of 4.81 on the year with tonight’s starter Danks arguably being the best of the bunch, but this Indians team has tagged him before in his career and after a day off for travel yesterday the Indians will be happy to be back home.
Cleveland went 0-6 SU on their west coast road trip as their own starting pitching had some issues allowing 5+ runs in five of the six games. Chicago has hovered around the .500 mark this year because they are knocking the cover off the ball right now and rookie Jose Abreu has been one of the best hitters in the league.
With a light wind blowing out to right field, this one should see a few balls leave the yard as these two combine for 9 runs by the time the 7th inning rolls around.
Oakland/Boston Over 9.5 (-115) $345 to win $300
Here we’ve got two hot hitting teams going up against two pitchers that have really struggled the first month of the season and nothing on either front should change tonight. Oakland has a bit of an advantage having had yesterday off while Boston played a double-header, but these two will trade runs back and forth all evening as the ‘over’ has gone 15-5-1 the last 21 times these two have played at Fenway.
LAD/Miami Over 7.5 (-120) $360 to win $300
There is a similar trend alive for the opener of this Dodgers/Marlins series as the ‘over’ has gone 9-3-2 O/U the last 14 games these two have played here in Miami and you can go back even further to see that it’s actually cashed at a 2-1 rate (31-15-5 O/U) in their last 51 games.
Miami’s got some serious swagger going after they swept the Braves to start the week and should be able to jump all over a declining Josh Beckett. In fact, having Jarrod Saltalamacchia on their roster now should help Miami’s young hitters go up to the plate with a gameplan as he caught Beckett while they were both in Boston.
L.A. played a double-header themselves yesterday in Minnesota as they swept the Twins but everyone in their lineup contributed and that should continue tonight against a shaky starter in Tom Koehler.
San Francisco Giants pk 1st 5 innings (+120) $300 to win $360
I don’t play the first five innings a ton, but when I really find a play I like I will jump on board. This play is all about value as many are off the Lincecum bandwagon these days but the two-time Cy Young winner still has plenty of juice left in that arm.
Atlanta’s offense has gone stagnant this week after struggled to score in Miami and Minor is getting his first start of the year and that’s cause for concern. This is a guy that’s coming off significant injuries and doesn’t deserve to be priced like this until I see much more from him and the Braves offense.
