Had a 2-1 night with my free selections yesterday with the lone loser being my longshot on the Carolina Hurricanes to win their first game of the season. It was a 1-0 start to the NBA season though, and with a full slate of games tonight and Game 7 in the World Series there is plenty of action out there to let’s get right to it.

There is nothing like a Game 7 of a Finals series in any sport and this World Series Game 7 should not disappoint. This series has been back and forth throughout with blowout win matched by blowout win, but I believe we see a much tighter game tonight as both teams pull out all the stops with no possibility of another chance.

That means we will likely see Madison Bumgarner for the Giants pitch an inning or two, both bullpens work overtime, and guys laying out all over the diamond to make a play. Of the last six six times we’ve had a Game 7 in the World Series (dates back to 1987), the home team has won all six games, but more importantly we’ve had final scores of 6, 1, 5, 5, 5, and 8. There were two extra inning games during that span and I believe tonight’s game follows a similar script with one of these two teams winning a 3-2 type game.

Washington is back at home after a 1-2 SU road trip through Western Canada and they’ve got to be happy to be back in their own barn. However, This Wings team is very tough and after a tough loss themselves last time out, I expect Detroit to take advantage of a road weary Caps team early on.

Detroit has had three full days off prior to this game and they are 108-49-8 SU as a franchise with 3+ days off. If that’s not a big enough sample size for you to consider taking the + money on the Wings tonight, then we will just have to agree to disagree.

Milwaukee +8 (-103) $206 to win $200

Jason Kidd starts his rebuilding project in Milwaukee tonight and he’s got a lot of work ahead of him. Milwaukee will be a bad team this season, but they’ve got enough young talent to be molded the way Kidd wants and that means they will find some success at times this year. The Bucks also have a decent offensive lineup with the likes of Mayo, Giannis, and rookie Jabari Parker, and quite frankly I think this is just too many points for  the offensively-challenged Hornets to be laying in Game 1 of the season.
