In my opinion last night’s finish to the 49ers/Rams game was a fitting way to end the week for me as both of my NFL free plays this week were flipped from winners into losers in the final minute thanks to Pick-6’s. Beats like that are hard to stomach at times as it’s they are a case of “right play, wrong result” but those kinds of bat beats will happen more often than not and sometimes they’ll actually work in your favor.
I am plugging on tonight with my first NHL free play of the season and just like my opening night thoughts piece, I’m heading to the Flames game tonight.

Calgary/Nashville Over 5.5 (+108) $300 to win $324
I’m surprised to see the “under” getting all of the action in this game when you consider that each of the past 7 games between these two franchises have all sailed over rather easily. Calgary is still going to be a basement dweller this season and to do that you’v e got to let in goals as their youthful roster takes their lumps.
However, that doesn’t mean the Flames won’t be able to score goals this year as they’ve got a great number of guys with phenomenal speed and for whatever reason Pekka Rinne hates to see those red and yellow flaming C’s bearing down on him. Nashville has gotten off to a 2-0 start and has yet to sail ‘over’ a total, but that will change tonight with another 4-3/5-4 type game between these two teams.
Those last seven matchups have finished with scores of 6-5, 5-4, 4-2, 4-3, 5-3, 6-4 and 5-3, so I’m expecting a similar result tonight and for this play to be in such a minority is the icing on the cake.
