Canucks ml -111 (3*) – Canucks come in this season with a new head coach that newly appointed President of hockey operations, Trevor Linden hired.  Ryan Kesler was traded to the Ducks and the Canuck’s found a new #1 goalie in free agency this summer, Ryan Miller.  Calgary lacks in offensive scoring and is still in the Bryan Burke rebuild process.  The Canuck’s strong defensive core is still in place from a season ago and with Ryan Miller in net, the young Flames will have trouble getting anything by Miller. With the Sedins ready to break back out this season with a new winger, Radim Vrbata (once 30 goal scorer) they can get back to their elite status this season, if they stay healthy.

The Flames lost Cammalleri and then added Mason Raymond and Devin Setoguchi to try to help out with scoring this season.  Highly talked about draft pick Sam Bennett who was drafted fourth overall this season will miss action against the Canucks and maybe months with a shoulder injury that may require surgury.  Jonas Hiller was added to the Flames to be a No. 1 goalie this season, but will he stay at No. 1 status?  Flames still hold a few vets on the team, but just think the Flames need some time to grow with this team and the Canuck’s will be too much to handle up front and still have their shutdown defense still in place from last season.  The Flames also have to travel to their in-province rival Edmonton for a game tomorrow.  Canuck’s start the season off with a win in Calgary tonight.
