I managed to get an easy win with my lone free play last night as Felix Hernandez’s career struggles against the Jays continued and one crooked number was all we needed to push that total well over the 7 number. My two premium plays were looking good for a sweep as well at about 11:00 EST when it was 3-2 early on in the Giants/Dodgers game, but they combined for only one more run the rest of the way and it cost me a perfect night. It’s back to the diamond for today’s selections, so let’s get right to them.

Houston/Texas Over 8.5 (+104) $300 to win $300

It’s the last meeting between these two before a very long offseason for both franchises and after two straight ‘unders’ to start this series, I believe both offenses go out with a bang.

First off, we’ve got a young pitcher in Lisalverto Bonilla making his third start for the Rangers this season and he’s been a huge benefactor of run support so far. Texas has scored an average of 7.5/game with Bonilla on the hill and although that number is a bit skewed after the 12 they put up on LAA in his last start, I don’t think anything he throws will fool this Astros lineup.

Secondly, the Rangers have been playing some great baseball of late and they are 6-1 O/U the last seven times they’ve been underdogs. They were blanked by Feldman last time they saw him at the end of August (2-0) and I don’t think that will happen again tonight. Texas is 6-2 O/U after their last eight victories and tonight’s game will push it to 7-2.

Houston is 7-3 O/U the last 10 times Feldman has faced an AL West rival and there is no chance he’s able to pitch a complete game shutout again vs. this team. With five days of rest Feldman has a 4-1 O/U run going right now and with a small 60% majority backing the low side of this total and this series finale game fitting into our MLB system, I’m taking the high side here.
