I managed to go 2-1 with my free NBA picks last night but I missed on the big one thanks to a 32-point 3rd quarter in the Magic/Bulls game. Those two were on pace to fly well over the total after 106 points in the first half, but that 32-point frame out of the break killed it as we ended up 3 points shy. That will happen in the NBA, but thankfully I hit with my other two selections and managed to come out ahead for the night. That’s all you can ask for and tonight I’m hoping for a similar result with these free plays.

Montreal/Buffalo Over 5 (+102) $300 to win $306
Nine straight games the Sabres have either pushed on the total or stayed under (0-7-2 O/U) as this team is taking futility to new heights. Buffalo has been shutout five times during that span, but they are showing signs of coming around and host a Montreal team that’s allowed 11 goals in their last two games. The Habs are turning to backup Dustin Tokarski tonight in hopes that Price can regroup with a night off, but this could be one of those games where we see these two teams trade goals back and forth and we get a 3-2 score at worst.

Denver +4 (-108) $216 to win $200
Back end of a home-and home for these two teams after the Kings went into Denver on the tail end of their own back-to-back and beat the Nuggets 110-105. Denver were 6.5-point favorites that day and even with the change of venue it’s tough for me to believe that the spread should be 10 points different. It’s always tough to sweep a home-and-home series and while the Denver ML (+144) is tempting, I’m staying safe here and grabbing the points.
