Houston/LA Under 207 (-107) $214 to win $200
The Lakers may have Kobe back this year but we really don’t know how well he’ll play out of the gate coming off another serious injury and quite frankly he doesn’t have much help around him. New coach Byron Scott has made it a point this year that the Lakers will be much better defensively and limit their 3-point shots – two things which are very good for under bettors.
Houston is out to play much better defense as well this year as they know they’ll be able to score, but being better in their own end will help them take that next step into becoming a true contender. With the offense still needing some time to get into their groove, we won’t see Houston be as efficient as they will be down the road and that’s why I’m taking the low side of this total.

Ottawa ML (-105 ) $315 to win $300
The Senators navigated their way through a very emotional weekend after the shootings in their city last week and they followed up that incident with two losses this weekend. However, with that horrific tragedy now in the rearview mirror, Ottawa can go out there with a free mind and play some of their best hockey. They’ve got the Blue Jackets backup McElhinney in net tonight and they already chased him from a game earlier this season. Getting out of the city is what this team needs right now and the Sens will come away with the victory tonight.
Carolina ML (+195) $200 to win $390
Taking a shot with a Hurricanes team that has not had anything go right for them so far this year. However, they’ve been in Vancouver for days and grown comfortable there and get their captain Eric Staal back in the lineup tonight. Carolina has yet to win this year but that should change tonight against a Canucks team that is no doubt taking them a little lightly.
