First I’m going to say the SDS coach might have made the worst coaching decision this year by far for not kicking a fg on the 11 yard line and going for it on 4th and 5 and deserve to lose after that (costing us a cover there), but coaches both in NFL and CFB continue to make horrible decisions each game when I say that’s the worst call this year the next game another call takes the “worst call of the year” prize.  Frustrating, that’s all I can say about that, we pick ourselves back up and move on to the next game.

DBB (Drock Best Bet) in BOLD (40-30-4) 4-1 Last 5

WKU/CMU OVER 68.5 -106 (pinny) 3* – I know this is a square play here, but really dug deep here to find an UNDER edge, but couldn’t find one.  You can simply fade the public with an under play, it’s up to you.  Central Michigan has a decent defense this year (allowed 336 yards per game), but has played an easier of schedule against a very weak MAC conference.  They also have allowed 144 points for the opposition this season off turnovers.  With a quick strike WKU offense that could lead to TD’s.  Western Kentucky gave up over 40 points on seven different occasions to teams such as Florida Atlantic, UAB, Middle Tennessee State and Old Dominion (31 points or more 9 times this season, four times 50 or more). None of these teams are bowl eligible and none of them are known for their offense either.  It’s pretty easy to make a case for the WKU offense as they have put up huge numbers this season.  They ranked third nationally in passing yards per game (365.0) and sixth nationally in points scored (44.0) and total yards (527.8) per game. The Hilltoppers have this QB named Brandon Doughty, might have heard of him, who has thrown for over 4,000 yards on the year and 44 TD’s.  CMU is without their leading rusher for this game due to academic issues, so will be passing a bit more, which in turn against a very weak WKU D, over 500 yards of total offense per game this season.  I do believe CMU takes this game today even without their leading rusher.  Backups are Devon Spalding (4 TD’s TY) and Saylor Lavallii (4 TD’s TY) should provide excellent dual support for CMU against a weak WKU rush D (gave up 229.7 avg rushing yards/game) .  WKU off a championship felt win over undefeated Marshall last game of season.  Bowls aren’t letdowns, but this has the feeling of one.  OVER is the play CMU wins in my opinion 45-41.  Weather will not be an issue here today as it’s sunny and beautiful in the Bahamas.

***Added Bonus for this game***
WKU/CMU OVER 34.5 first half -114 (pinny) 2* – A 5 TD first half is not hard to ask for here

Rice -2.5 -108 (pinny) 3* – It’s Rice’s third straight bowl game and for Rice they provide legitimate bowl credentials and figures to be able to exploit the weak Fresno defense, which ranked 108th overall this season. The Owls balanced their offense, thanks to electric QB Driphus Jackson (57.3 % completions for 210.3 ypg and 21 TD’s vs 8 INTS, also rushed for 360 yards), who in relief also led Rice to a bowl win over Air Force two years ago. The Owls’ defensive stats appear worse than they really were, partly because La Tech dropped a 76 point bomb on Rice Nov. 29.  Fresno and mistake-prone QB Brian Burrell (16 INT’s) should benefit a Rice D that is looking to avenge their 76 end of the season blowout and tighten things up tonight in Hawaii.  Fresno State is a Mountain West team and teams from that conference have appeared in four bowl games already this year. Utah State was a 10.5 point favorite over UTEP and was barely able to score 10. Utah St. held a 14-6 lead late in the game and were content with running out the clock but UTEP threw in the towel and allowed a late TD on a drive that consisted of four running plays to make the final 21-6. The other three teams from the Mountain West all lost. San Diego State lost to Navy 17-16, Nevada scored only three points in a 16-3 loss to the Ragin’ Cajuns and Colorado State was smoked by 35 points by Utah. In other words, the Mountain West is proving to be a soft conference and I’m not about to overlook that.  Rice get’s it done tonight in a close low scoring match-up Rice 27 Fresno 24.  UNDER is worth a look in tonight’s match-up if your inclined.

Good Luck to all today and enjoy the games!!
