NFL & CFB Strategy – Information + Preparation guide to winners in 2016

I first want to touch on bankroll management and how important it is to your success for the upcoming football seasons.  If you are looking to build a bankroll betting on football this year, start with setting yourself up with plan.  Long term success will come with having a plan and controlling your unit sizes.  Scared money don’t make money is something you have probably heard of before. I don’t believe in this saying, it was probably made up by the sportbooks that want your money.  Smart money makes money is what I believe.  You don’t want to put yourself in a hole early on in the football season.  Be prepared for the inevitable bad runs. Remind yourself not to chase losses and attempt to bailout. On the flip side, remember not to push too hard when on a hot run. Stay emotionless and realize that one wager does not make or break a season. All the hype is here, football is getting closer, everyday you see a tweet on twitter with how many days are left to kickoff in NFL and NCAAF, just be smart and don’t let all the hype make you make the wrong decisions with your hard earned money.  An unprepared bettor is a losing one.  Information is power, so do your due diligence by gathering as much material as possible to ensure yourself a good understanding for the upcoming seasons.  Understanding the biorhythm of a club before and during the season is essential for success.  That will help you gain insight into what the team is made of and how they will react week in and week out during the season's inevitable challenges. The football season offers lots of ups [...]

2016 CFB Betting Preview

Welcome to my annual college football betting preview. I am going to keep the same format as last year as I will be examining it from a bettors perspective and not just previewing each conference and team. There are a lot of schools in college football and I do my homework and study the scheduling to find the best situations to move with and attack against as the season rolls on. In college the turnover of players is high as players get drafted, graduate and transfer schools. Coaching changes and player transfers have happened and I compile all this information to find the best spots and numbers. For the average bettor it can be overwhelming to go through and research every team and league before and during the college football season. My advice, and I did this when I was first starting out, was to concentrate my time on one conference. Know every team, player and coaching staff for that conference and study only the schedules and history of that one conference. Research and read the local papers of these schools, check out their social media pages, get to know every detail there is to find information that might not be factored in the line to find you that edge. A win is a win doesn’t matter from what conference and if you concentrate on just one conference chances are you will benefit better during the season. To stat collecting data I use cfbstats.com to gather information from the previous year. Profitable Betting situations to look out for this year: Also up here is my list of CFB Profitable Theory’s that I look for every week during the season New to the team: Works like [...]

September Football Betting Mistakes & NFL Preseason Money Making Situations

September is just around the corner, the best of months for most of us as FOOTBALL is finally here!!  Most bettors have returned after a summer of relaxing and ready to fire at anything and everything.  They have pockets full of hard earned cash and come in with guns a blazing.  Mistake #1.  Really September football betting should be bet with caution.  Most gamblers rush into September letting their stack ride on one game.  Mistake #2.  Set yourself up a bankroll, doesn't matter what size it is $200, $500 or $2000.  Early on it's easy to get ahead of yourself and have more than what you want on the table at once.  Mistake #3.  Control your unit sizes and don't bet what you can't afford to lose.  Wagering sizes I suggest should be 2-5% of your bankroll not 50%-75% of it.  Long term success will come with having a plan and controlling your unit sizes.  Scared money don't make money is something you have probably heard of before. Mistake #4, I don't believe in this saying, it was probably made up by the sportbooks that want your money.  Smart money makes money is what I believe.  You don't want to put yourself in a hole early on in the football season.  All the hype is here football is getting closer, everyday you see a tweet on twitter with how many days are left to kickoff in NFL and NCAAF, just be smart and don't let all the hype make you make the wrong decisions with your hard earned money. Betting Tip: September betting can be hard sometimes because there are basically no emotional letdowns in the first four weeks.  By October, November and December you [...]

Profitable CFB Betting Situations

Betting college football does have a few similarities to betting the NFL, but overall is a very different animal than betting the NFL.  Top college players graduate each year and teams are completely different from season to season with totally different personalities.  Throw all team trends out the window, they are useless in CFB and even historical trends as well.  When it come to college football handicapping, thinking outside the box is the way to profit all season long. A few profitable College Football Betting situations and my winning theory's to look for during the season: 1.  Revenge This is one of the similarities to the NFL and if used correctly it can be very profitable.   The revenge card has been really bastardized by handicappers, but when used in the right circumstance it can be profitable.  I look over the schedule each week and see if any team lost to that team a season ago, that had their worst loss.  A loss so bad it was embarrassing and humiliating that the losing team can not forget.  Remember though, in college football teams are different each season and if the QB isn't the same or head coach left, it's a pass for me.  I look for this spot and PLAY ON the loser of last year's game in the rematch. 2.  Let-Down spots This applies to later on in the season and not in September.  Later in the season teams are more likely to have mental and emotional breakdowns as the grind to the season is in full swing.  Games are played against conference teams and school rivals are big games for these kids and teams coming off huge wins will more than likely be [...]
