Saturday CFB FREE PICK

NCAAF YTD 0-0 (0%) ($0) East Carolina +21.5 -110 (sportsbook) risking $110 to win $100 Revenge is on the minds of ECU as they should be excited for this trip to "The Swamp," after it's painful loss 28-20 in last year's Birmingham Bowl to UF.  Pirates outgained the Gators 536-339, but ECU had 2 more turnovers, including a 29 yard interception return for a touchdown.  ECU does return 4 of 5 OL up front and has a great RB in Chris Hairston (17 carries, 73 yards, 4.3 ypc LY vs. UF in bowl game).  ECU did lose QB Shane Carden as well as WR Justin Hardy (4th rd pick) and WR Cam Worthy.  Florida has a patchwork OL that is very inexperienced.  Florida has two QB's fighting for a starting role with the team which I think it plays to ECU's favor. Florida coach Jim McElwain says 6-2 redshirt freshman Will Grier will get the start at QB this week for the Gators, but that Game One starter Treon Harris will also see action. McElwain has emphasized that Grier’s start does not necessarily mean he has won the QB competition between the two.  ECU only beat Towson by 8 last week, which is why I think bettors are overreacting to that result and just think they will be a pushover vs. Florida.  "The Swamp" is a tough place to play, but this is all about overreacting and is an angle I look to take advantage here, take the ECU Pirates + the points. Good luck to all today and enjoy the games!!   Week 2 in CFB is here and in this week I like to find games where the market has overreacted to what [...]

2015 College Football Betting preview

It's here, college football season is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited!  In this college football season preview I will be looking at it from a bettors perspective and not just previewing each conference and team.  There are a lot of schools in college football and I do my homework and study the scheduling to find the best situations to PLAY ON and PLAY AGAINST as the season rolls on.  In college the turnover of players is high as players get drafted, graduate and transfer schools.  Coaching changes have happened and I compile all this information over the summer and find the best spots and numbers to provide you with my 2015 college football betting preview. For the average bettor it can be overwhelming to go through and research every team and league before and during the college football season.  My advice, and I did this when I was first starting out, was to concentrate my time on one conference.  Know every team, player and coaching staff for that conference and study only the schedules and history of that one conference.  Research and read the local papers of these schools, check out their social media pages, get to know every detail there is to find information that might not be factored in the line to find you that edge.  A win is a win doesn't matter from what conference and if you concentrate on just one conference chances are you will benefit better during the season.  To stat collecting data I use cfbstats.com to gather information from the previous year. Profitable Betting situations to look out for this year: Also up here is my list of CFB Profitable Theory's that I [...]

September Football Betting Mistakes & NFL Preseason Money Making Situations

September is just around the corner, the best of months for most of us as FOOTBALL is finally here!!  Most bettors have returned after a summer of relaxing and ready to fire at anything and everything.  They have pockets full of hard earned cash and come in with guns a blazing.  Mistake #1.  Really September football betting should be bet with caution.  Most gamblers rush into September letting their stack ride on one game.  Mistake #2.  Set yourself up a bankroll, doesn't matter what size it is $200, $500 or $2000.  Early on it's easy to get ahead of yourself and have more than what you want on the table at once.  Mistake #3.  Control your unit sizes and don't bet what you can't afford to lose.  Wagering sizes I suggest should be 2-5% of your bankroll not 50%-75% of it.  Long term success will come with having a plan and controlling your unit sizes.  Scared money don't make money is something you have probably heard of before. Mistake #4, I don't believe in this saying, it was probably made up by the sportbooks that want your money.  Smart money makes money is what I believe.  You don't want to put yourself in a hole early on in the football season.  All the hype is here football is getting closer, everyday you see a tweet on twitter with how many days are left to kickoff in NFL and NCAAF, just be smart and don't let all the hype make you make the wrong decisions with your hard earned money. Betting Tip: September betting can be hard sometimes because there are basically no emotional letdowns in the first four weeks.  By October, November and December you [...]
