After taking yesterday off from free plays it's time to get back at it today with a couple of free plays. Winnipeg has been through the ringer regarding this Evander Kane situation and for all the negative attention they've gotten the past 48 hours, it will be nice to get back on the ice and just play some hockey again. They are 4-0 SU in their last four with the Hawks (all have been on the road though) and Chicago has a huge game with St Louis on deck. The Hawks have also been shutout in back-to-back games and simply aren't playing the best hockey right now. Regarding Columbus, they were embarrassed by how they played as big home favorites against Arizona earlier this week and host a red hot Blues team (won 7 in a row). St Louis could easily be looking past the Blue Jackets and to that game with Chicago this weekend and it's only a matter of time before these lofty road prices on St Louis start to burn their backers.      

A poor 3rd quarter from Cleveland killed any chance of the Cavs covering that large spread last night, but tonight I'm going back to my bread and butter and that's underdogs. I'm sticking with the NHL for my free plays tonight, but have sent out five CBB premium plays to subscribers. Oddly enough, the NBA's Atlanta Hawks won more games in January than the Leafs scored goals, so it's no surprise to see many bettors backing away from Toronto tonight. But Toronto has had this return game with Nashville circled on their calendar for awhile now. Toronto lost 9-2 at home to Nashville back in November in a game that was the ultimate low-point in Toronto's season prior to their January struggles. That game was flat out embarrassing on so many levels and the Leafs get their shot at redemption tonight. There is no way that the Predators don't take Toronto a little lightly tonight after that blowout win, and with this game sandwiched between contests against Pittsburgh and Anaheim for Nashville, I don't think we see the best effort from the Preds tonight.
