Wed Jan 21st Betting Action

After an all around rough Monday night, I passed with free plays yesterday to regroup. Tonight that's not the case as the late game in the NBA has really grabbed my attention: Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records NCAAF YTD: 24-24 ATS (-$393) NFL YTD: 11-17 ATS (-$1926) NHL YTD: 15-19 (-$426) NBA YTD: 9-13 (-$998) NCAAB: 2-1-1 (+$83) NBA Free Plays Houston +8.5 (-110) $220 to win $200 Houston/GS Under 217.5 (-110) $330 to win $300 These two teams met in Houston on Saturday and the Warriors ran away with a 131-106 victory. Golden State shot nearly 55% from the field and nearly 41% from beyond the arc as they put up 30+ points in the first three quarters and nearly managed to hit that number again in the 4th during garbage time. There is no denying that this Warriors offense is highly entertaining to watch and with an 18-1 SU home record they are extremely tough to beat. But with this being the second meeting in such a short span and the Rockets looking to avoid getting swept 4-0 in the season series with GS (0-3 SU and ATS this year), I expect the Rockets to play one of their best games tonight as they could come away with the outright victory. The total is my highest ranked play of the bunch because prior to Saturday's meeting, these two high-scoring offenses decided to play defense against one another before. The first two Golden State wins came by 98-87 and 105-93 scores, easily cashing both 'unders.' Golden State's offense might grab all the headlines, but it's their defense and their league-leading 42.1% FG allowed number that's sparked the significant improvement we've [...]

Monday Jan 19th Betting Action

It managed to be a small profitable night with my two free selections as Buffalo jumped all over a disinterested Detroit team early on and jumped out to a 3-0 1st period lead. The Wings woke up in the 2nd and talent took over en route to the 6-4 win. You'll suffer losses like that when you back ugly dogs like the Sabres, but in that particular situation it was nice to know I wouldn't have to sweat the results after the first period with a split and +$100 in my pocket at worst (Should Buffalo lose it would go over) and that's what happened. I'm coming back with a similar play tonight with another large underdog and 'over' play but this team is much better than Buffalo at least. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts ‘to win’ on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records NCAAF YTD: 24-24 ATS (-$393) NFL YTD: 11-17 ATS (-$1926) NHL YTD: 15-17 (+$74) NBA YTD: 9-13 (-$998) NCAAB: 2-1-1 (+$83) NHL Free Plays Colorado ML (+183) $200 to win $366 Colorado/St Louis Over 5.5 (+113) $300 to win $339 The Avs and Blues have played four times already this year with St Louis posting a 3-1 SU record and the totals going 0-3-1 O/U. The two teams traded shutout wins with one another in their last two meetings, but I believe both teams find the twine multiple times tonight in a back-and-forth affair. When coming off a shutout win, the Blues are 2-0-2 O/U this season as they are 4th in the league with 3.13 goals scored per game. Colorado allows 2.78/game and with the Blues netting 3 [...]

Sunday Jan 18th Betting Action

My return to posting free plays yesterday didn't turn out well as the Ducks and Kings managed to stay below the total to cost me my lone bet. It's back to the ice tonight as we've got three heavy road underdogs this evening and it's actually the worst of the bunch that's caught my eye. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts ‘to win’ on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold Free Play Records NCAAF YTD: 24-24 ATS (-$393) NFL YTD: 11-17 ATS (-$1926) NHL YTD: 14-16 (-$26) NBA YTD: 9-13 (-$998) NCAAB: 2-1-1 (+$83) NHL Free Plays Buffalo ML (+281) $200 to win 562 Buffalo/Detroit Over 5 (-123) $369 to win $300 This is a rematch from last week where the Red Wings began this current three-game win streak they're on by beating the Sabres 3-1. Buffalo has lost two more times since then (getting outscored 11-3), have lost 10 in a row and 14 of their last 15 overall. So why am I backing the Sabres tonight? Well for one, I love my underdogs in the NHL and they don't get much bigger than this. But it's the quick turnaround revenge angle that has me excited about this play as the Sabres would love to redeem themselves with a win tonight. They know they can beat the Wings (won 3-2 earlier this year at home) and chances are Detroit takes them a little lightly tonight after last week's victory. This isn't the best spot for the Wings either as they are coming off a 5-2 win over the league's best team (Nashville) yesterday in their first game back at home after a long road trip that [...]

AFC Championship Prop Bets

Just like I did for the NFC Championship, here are three prop bets I'm on for the AFC Title game later today. Again, lines courtesy of the Greek: Prop Bet #1: Andrew Luck Over 2.5 TD Passes (+125) $100 to win $125 Although I do like this full game 'under' the 53.5/54, we will see both teams score in the 20's. The Colts don't run the ball very well at all and even near the goal line they'll want to keep the ball in the hands of their best player (Luck). I know 3 TD's is a lot to ask for in his first AFC Championship game, but Indy has a legitimate shot at pulling off the upset here and they'll need Luck to have a big game for that to happen. Don't forget I could be wrong with my full game 'under' bet and if that's the case, Luck should have little issue with cashing in three times. Prop Bet #2: Brandon LaFell Under 62.5 Receiving Yards (-120) $120 to win $100 LaFell has fallen out of favor in this offense with a healthy Gronk and Edelman back in the mix. Add in the shifty Amendola in there and the past success New England has had running the ball in blowout wins over the Colts and I just don't see how LaFell gets that many opportunities to see the ball tonight. Prop Bet #3: Coby Fleener Over 40.5 Receiving Yards (-115) $115 to win $100 The Colts haven't had much success against the Patriots since Luck arrived, but the same can't be said about his old Stanford teammate Coby Fleener. Between last year's playoff loss to the Pats and the meeting earlier this season, Fleener [...]

NFC Championship Prop Bets

It's Championship Sunday, so I thought that I'd look at multiple prop bets for these games and let you all know of a couple that I'm on. Lines courtesy of The Greek: Prop Bet #1: Over 4.5 Sacks (-130) $130 to win $100 Rodgers lack of mobility + the Seahawks pass rush could get us there alone, but I do believe that Green Bay's defense is tired of listening to how good Seattle's unit is and will get a couple of sacks on Wilson as well. The first meeting in Week 1 finished with 4 sacks, but with Seattle looking to keep the heat on Rodgers for the full 60 minutes and not let that calf strain loosen up, this bet should hit. Prop Bet #2: Jordy Nelson Over 5.5 pass receptions (-125) $125 to win $100 Nelson was targeted 14 times in the Week 1 game and hauled in nine of those throws. He was shutdown for the most part by Dallas (two catches on five targets) but if Green Bay is going to pull off the upset here Nelson needs to be a big part of this offense. Rodgers has shown in recent weeks that the other receivers like Adams and TE Rodgers can be called upon when necessary, so Seattle won't load up on Nelson like other opponents have. Nelson's ability to catch those short routes to keep drives alive here and Green Bay likely trailing for the majority of the game will help put this one 'over.' Prop Bet #3: Total points scored by K Steven Hauschka Over 8 (-105) $105 to win $100 Obviously the easiest way to get here would be three FG's by the Seattle kicker, but as [...]
