NFL:
Packers +8.5 -105 (2*) – The Seahawks are so overhyped right now, I’m not buying it. The media has influenced this line and they have also influenced the general public into thinking the Seahawks simply cannot lose. All we’ve been reading and hearing about over the last week is how the Seahawks are back in championship form. We hear how their defense is playing at another level right now and how no team has been able to crack them for weeks. Well, let me point out that Seattle’s “unbelievable” defense played the following teams over the past 10 weeks: Carolina (twice), Oakland, the Giants, Kansas City, Arizona (twice), San Fran (twice), Philadelphia and St. Louis. The only good offense they faced over that stretch was Philadelphia’s, but the Eagles were coming off a huge 33-10 prime time win over Dallas the previous week. The rest of those offenses ranked near the bottom of the league in every stat. Last week, Carolina was able to move the ball up and down the field with ease against this “incredible” defense. Carolina had more first downs (21-16) last week than Seattle, more yards gained (362-348) and ran an amazing 68 total plays from scrimmage to the Seahawks 52. Seattle got lucky and was able to win the turnover battle 3-0 and turn those long drives into nothing. If Green Bay can win the turnover battle today they can not only cover this ridiculous line, they should win outright. Packers can run the ball and sustain long drives, keep that Seattle D gasping for air and win this game. Packers 23 Seattle 20
