World Junior Championship

Slovakia +4.5 +114 1* – I’m from Canada and ya hockey is life up here, this is what we live for.  BUT HUGE PRICE to pay for the first game of the tourny.  First game’s are about building chemistry with each other.  These guys don’t play with other in the juniors so the coaching staff has to find the right guys to play with each other.  Canada always has a target on their backs going into this tourny.  they haven’t won gold for 5 straight years and this year it’s in Canada.  Expectations are high and can lead to nervousness for them, especially at the start.  No way am I laying a 5 goal win for Canada here.  I will be cheering for them and will be watching every game, but remember Canadians don’t bet with your heart throughout this tourny, you will get crushed.  You will be paying a huge premium throughout for this team, so you will probably see me going against them a few times.

NBA:

Pacers/Pistons UNDER 194 -109 1* – Frank Vogel’s Pacers are back playing some solid D holding opponents to just 89 ppg and 39.7% last 5 games.  Detroit has been giving up the points recently which I think it changes with a team that should be more focused after the Christmas break to not let opponents score as much (113 ppg last 4).  Detroit should tighten things up which in turn should lead to a low scoring game tonight.  Pacers 94 Pistons 90
