Ottawa ML (+100) $200 to win $200

Ottawa has been off since Saturday and all of that extra rest should be enough to get them over the hump tonight. Nashville is on a roll right now having won 5 of 6 and coming off a 9-2 blowout win over Toronto, but things will not be nearly as easy for the Preds tonight.

Ottawa is 7-2 SU after scoring less than 2 goals in their last game and are 4-1 SU in their last five against a winning team. This is a tough early test for the Sens as they try to stop all of the losing they’ve been doing lately and as home underdogs tonight I like their chances.

Tampa Bay/Toronto Under 6 (+104) $200 to win $208

Toronto has been a complete mess the last week and it culminated with that 9-2 loss to Nasvhille on Tuesday night. If you listen to local media around here you’d believe the sky is falling here in Toronto and quite frankly the Leafs aren’t anywhere near as bad of a team as they’ve recently showed. Tonight’s a huge opportunity for them to bounce back against one of the best teams in the East and I expect them to rise up to the challenge.

I’m not sure if Toronto will be able to come away with the W (gun to my head I’d take Toronto), but after allowing 15 goals in their last two outings, defense will be the #1 priority tonight against the league’s best offense. Keeping the puck out of their net has been Toronto’s problem the past few seasons, but professional pride kicks in after a brutal 9-2 loss like they had and we will see an inspired effort from them tonight. Perception and Tampa’s high-scoring offense has made this number “6” and I believe we get a push at worst with that total.

UNC/Duke Over 66.5 (-108) $324 to win $300

Duke suffered a heartbreaking 17-16 defeat to Virginia Tech last week, but thanks to losses elsewhere they can still claim their division in the ACC. They are up against a Tar Heels team that can’t stop anyone (allow 41.2/game) and the Blue Devils should find plenty of offensive success tonight.

North Carolina knows their defense is weak and has stepped it up offensively the past few weeks in claiming some wins. They put up 40 on Pittsburgh last week and that marked the 3rd time in five games that UNC has scored 40+. In five road games this season UNC (and opponent) have finished with scores of 111, 85, 93, 55, and 67, so chances are we see points come in a hurry tonight and with Duke being 5-1 O/U after a loss and 4-1 O/U after scoring less than 20 points, this game has a great chance to go over.
