I took it on the chin with my free plays yesterday as neither had a chance to cash one the 2nd half started up. Days like that are easy to write off and begin work on tomorrow’s card because you were simply off and have to figure out where you went wrong. I know I’ll bounce back strong and I’m hoping that will be the case tonight with these free plays.

Akron -7.5 (-112) $336 to win $300
Akron might be 0-6 ATS in their last six games while UMass is 6-0 ATS, but the Minutemen did all of that with Fronhnapel under center and he along with RB Abrokwah will be out tonight for UMass. The coaches son Austin Whipple takes over at QB and in a relief effort last week Whipple did not attempt a pass. Granted, UMass had a two score lead at the time and wanted to bleed the clock and eliminate turnovers, but asking this redshirt freshman to go out on the road and win them a game in cold weather isn’t going to be easy.
Akron has fallen off a cliff of late, but with wins in their final two games the Zips would become bowl eligible again tis year. That is their primary goal the rest of the way and after going 0-2 ATS the past two seasons against Fronhnapel and UMass, they are hungry to take advantage of their situation tonight.

Boston ML (+100) $200 to win $200
St Louis may be the hottest team in the league right now, but Boston is no slouch and despite some early season hurdles, I don’t believe the Bruins should be home underdogs tonight. The fact that they are tells me a lot about the perception of this “unbeatable” Blues team right now as bettors have been jumping over one another today to get on the road team tonight.
However, I’m going against the grain here with Boston as I think they show up and play well against one of the league’s better teams tonight. This is Boston’s chance to put a little run going for themselves and I believe they find a way to come out on top.
