Yesterday’s free premium play on the Pacers managed to get us to the window as the injured Pacers rode Roy Hibbert to the victory. Tonight we’ve got a handful of games in the NBA, 11 games on the ice and two MAC games in college football. With all that available action out there it’s important to be selective with your plays and after sending out 5 premium plays earlier to subscribers, I’ve got two free plays for you that just narrowly missed out on becoming premiums.

I wrote about this play late last night here as this is just a brutal travel/scheduling spot for the Islanders back after a five-game trip out in California, and preparing for a two-game trip to Florida right after tonight. After being away for a week +, sleeping in their own bed, spending time with their families etc, has been a welcomed way for the Islanders to return home. Playing great hockey has become 2nd, especially since they finished that road trip in Cali very strong with three straight wins over teams like the Ducks and Kings.
New York lost 5-0 to Colorado about two weeks ago and would love to get revenge here, but this lone stop at home makes it impossible to consider backing them tonight; especially as favorites. Instead, I’m going with an Avalanche team who’s desperate and determined to get a road win (1-12 SU last 13 on the road) and will be feeling confident given the beating they put on the Isles in the previous meeting.

Orlando +11 (-110) $330 to win $300
Speaking of “revenge” and “trap scheduling” the same can be said for the Raptors game tonight as they host Orlando. Toronto was down in Orlando last week and beat the Magic 108-95 in a game where the Raps shot less than 40% from the field. When you can win by double digits and shoot that poorly it’s inevitable that you’ll look past this team the next time you play and given who Toronto has on deck that statement is definitely true.
Being based up in Canada, I know all about the fact that the Raptors never get on ESPN or TNT for one of their signature showcase games throughout the week. However, thanks to last year’s run to the playoffs, that has changed this year as Toronto hosts the Bulls on TNT on Thursday night. After years of never (or very rarely) playing on a Thursday (and never on TNT), Toronto finally gets a big stage and given that nearly all of the Raptors are American, that game is a huge deal internally. It’s not like the Bulls are a bad team either, so Toronto will definitely be looking past Orlando tonight as they prepare for their time under the bright lights.
Add in the revenge factor for Orlando after losing by 13 at home at the beginning of the month and Orlando will find a way to keep this game within 10 points.
