I managed to get an easy winner with the Over 57.5 in yesterday’s CFB game as Arkansas State and Lafayette combined for 57 points at half and finished the game with 95 points. Easy winners like that are always nice to get under your belt early in the week and although there isn’t much going on tonight (three NHL games, one WS game) I do like the card quite a bit and have already sent out three Premium plays to subscribers. There is still one play that narrowly missed out on making that card so I’m giving it to you here.

Philadelphia +1.5 (-138) $414 to win $300

I’ll admit you won’t find me playing too many puck line plays (+ or – 1.5) in the NHL but given the Flyers success @ Pittsburgh since the Pens got their new arena a few years back I had a hard time passing over this play.

Philly is 10-2-1  playing at the Console Energy Center and that includes SU wins in four of their last five visits. It is the back end of a back-to-back for the Flyers after they were shutout in Chicago last night which is why I’m a little hesitant to pull the trigger on the ML at +200 for a top play. However, that lone loss during those past five visits was a 2-1 OT loss, so chances are this game stays close.

The Penguins head out on a road trip after tonight’s game as they’ve got a date with the Red Wings tomorrow night and while there is no way they’ll be looking past a hated rival like the Flyers, history tells me that the Penguins have never played their best hockey at home against this team. I would not be surprised one bit to see Philadelphia win this game outright as they are 5-0 SU when coming off a loss of 3+ goals, but to be safe here, I’m taking the +1.5 goals as we see a tight, physical game throughout that will likely come down to the wire. In fact, I think I just talked myself into making a smaller bet on the ML too.
