Saturday June 7th Betting Picks

It was another 2-1 night last night with my play of the day on the over in Houston/Minnesota hitting after the game was delayed. The Phillies showed up as the Reds struggles against left-handers continued and Cleveland couldn't manage to come all the way back against the Rangers. It's on to tonight's card though with the Stanley Cup Playoffs getting going again as well as a full MLB card. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 9-12-3 (-$177) MLB YTD: 51-56-7 (+$192) Belmont Stakes Thoughts I read DRock's thoughts on the Belmont Stakes and was surprised to see what he said. Quite frankly I couldn't disagree more with his idea that this is a "Hollywood" storybook finish because history tells me otherwise. No horse has won the Triple Crown since 1978 and it's not like it's a small sample size either. 11 horses have had the chance to win the Belmont for the Triple Crown since 1978 and all 11 have failed. That's not even including "I'll Have Another" in 2012 after he won the first two legs and pulled out of the Belmont. The last horse to race with a shot at the Triple Crown was Big Brown in 2008. Brown was absolutely dominant in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness and entered the Belmont as a heavy favorite; sound familiar? Well Big Brown pulled up early in that race and didn't even finish the race as Da'Tara came in to win at nearly 80-1. I'm not saying a longshot will come in today, but there is no chance I'm betting California Chrome [...]

Saturday Bet Card + Belmont Picks

3-1 night, but that one lose was my TOP play which was a bad beat in my books.  3-0 Cubs going to the top of 9 and can't close it out, then a 2 run shot to end it and put the total at 8 was a hard one start to the night, but finished strong going 3-0 to close out the night.  This is sports and anything can happen that's why money management is key cause you have losing streaks and then you have winning streaks.  Today is the Belmont Stakes and I have my top 3 horses for you and will be boxing another trifecta.  Also NHL playoffs resume tonight and a full slate of baseball today.  Below, as always, is my updated record for you followed by my plays and highlighted in bold is my TOP play of the day. 1* = $100  TOP FREE PLAY – 27-14-1 (65.8%) (+$5193) NBA YTD 18-20 (47.3%) (-$362) MLB YTD 38-30-1 (55.8%) (+$3153) NHL YTD 17-12-1 (58.6%) (+$627) NFL YTD 1-0 (100%) (+$310) PARLAY’S YTD (1*) – 0-2 (0%) (-$200) YEAR-TO-DATE * - 2* 19-13 (59%) 3* 34-31 (52.3%) 4* 18-18-2 (50%) 5* 3-0 (100%) All lines courtesy Pinnacle Sports TOP play in bold A's Team Total OVER 4.5 -106 (3*) - A's won last night 4-3 in extras and now are a major league best 21-11 on the road.  Today they are facing a 23 year old Gausman who will be making his second start for the O's.  In his first start against Detroit he surrendered 5 earned runs on six hits in 4 innings of work.  Against a hot hitting A's team that can do damage quickly this one could get out of [...]

Friday June 6th Betting Action

I was 2-1 with my three MLB Plays yesterday and hitting my play of the day on the over in Tampa rather easily. Baseball is the only game in town tonight so it's back to the diamond for my plays. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold NBA YTD: 12-13-1 (-$187) NHL YTD: 9-12-3 (-$177) MLB YTD: 49-55-7 (-$156) MLB Plays Philadelphia ML (+124) $200 to win $248 The Phillies have been god awful of late as their pitching has struggled mightily and they can't seem to get the key hits when they need it. It's a shame to see an organization that was so good in the late-2000's get marred in such a downward spiral like this but the league always fluctuates and Philadelphia has to adapt. But for as bad as Philly has been, the Reds have been worse against left-handed pitching all year. Hamels is a guy that has owned Cincinnati throughout his career and his lone win of the season came in a 12-1 romping of the Reds about a month ago. He is just the guy this team needs on the hill tonight as this six-game losing streak for the Phillies ends tonight. Cleveland ML (+155) $200 to win $310 This play is all about a surging Indians team that just swept their six-game homestand and goes into Texas to play a Rangers team they beat five of six times a year ago. One of those wins (1-0) came against Darvish so the Indians won't be intimidated/fooled by what the Japanese sensation throws at them. Texas is also being severely over-valued in this spot [...]

Friday Bet Card

A nice day yesterday and felt good to get back in the winners circle after two rough days.  My TOP play continues to be successful 27-13-1 overall and got a nice 9-3 (75%) run going right now.  With some days off in the NHL and NBA finals we got an all diamond affair tonight.   Like a few road favorites tonight as you can grab a small price on them, so don't be afraid to take the road team tonight on your card.  Here's what made my card today: 1* = $100  TOP FREE PLAY – 27-13-1 (67.5%) (+$5593) NBA YTD 18-20 (47.3%) (-$362) MLB YTD 35-29-1 (54.6%) (+$2624) NHL YTD 17-12-1 (58.6%) (+$627) NFL YTD 1-0 (100%) (+$310) PARLAY’S YTD (1*) – 0-2 (0%) (-$200) YEAR-TO-DATE * - 2* 19-13 (59%) 3* 32-31 (50.7%) 4* 17-17-2 (50%) 5* 3-0 (100%) All lines courtesy Pinnacle Sports TOP play in bold Marlins/Cubs UNDER 7 +100 (4*) - With two hot teams playing each other today, one will be cooled off their hot streak.  The public see's two hot teams and them producing runs in only the past two games and now there's 87% on the over, but why did the number come to 7 with only 13% on the under?  Sharp money is coming in on the under this afternoon and I'm all over it and so should you. Braves ml -111 (4*) - Arizona is coming off a sweep of a struggling team and now face a team that is hungry for a win.  Arizona hasn't played well at Chase Field going 9-22 this season so far. McCarthy is starting for the Diamondbacks tonight and he is 0-2 with a 6.04 ERA his last 5 starts.  [...]

Thursday Bet Card

0-3 last night second losing day in a row.  Was on fire before my anniversary, Monday the day I took off, I'm thinking now I should have chosen sports instead of my wife.   Anyhow just got to get back in the winners circle here, so you guys keep coming back to read and play on our plays.  So I'm going to the NBA finals game 1 tonight and toss in a little diamond for the baseball lovers. 1* = $100  TOP FREE PLAY – 26-13-1 (66.6%) (+$5213) NBA YTD 16-20 (44.4%) (-$1118) MLB YTD 33-29-1 (53.2%) (+$2045) NHL YTD 17-12-1 (58.6%) (+$627) NFL YTD 1-0 (100%) (+$310) PARLAY’S YTD (1*) – 0-2 (0%) (-$200) YEAR-TO-DATE * - 2* 19-13 (59%) 3* 30-31 (49.1%) 4* 15-17-2 (46.8%) 5* 3-0 (100%) All lines courtesy Pinnacle Sports Spurs -4.5 -105 (4*) - Love the Spurs at home tonight with some rest here.  The crowd is going to be jacked up and they have something to prove after losing last year to the Heat in seven.  I look for the Spurs to keep Lebron from getting to the rim and forcing him to shoot and getting physical with him inside.  The Spurs are such a deep team and that depth has more experience then last year and this is the year the Spurs I think will take down the Heat with their home court advantage.   Spurs win 110-90 Spurs 1st half -3 -106 (4*) - Spurs will be coming out full tilt and just taking it to the Heat and I see them draining threes firing up the home town fans and crushing the Heat early on.  Spurs 55-45 at half Houston/Angels OVER 9.5 +104 (3*) - Trout [...]
