Thursday July 3rd Betting Action

It was a shame my two underdogs (Texas and Colorado) couldn't hold on to early leads last night as if even one of them could have won it would have been a very good day. Instead it was a 2-2 night with those two dogs losing and my two totals coming in rather easily. Didn't win or lose a sent with my plays last night and with another small board tonight it's time to get right down to it. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB YTD: 83-88-10 (+$549) MLB plays Arizona/Pittsburgh Over 7.5 (+100) $300 to win $300 This play fits the same line of thought I had with my two totals last night. The first two games of this series between the Diamondbacks and Pirates have both stayed under the total and it's time to flip the script. Arizona starter Brandon McCarthy has been giving up runs by the handful all year and Vance Worley only just returned to the majors because he was down fixing some mechanical issues. It's only a matter of time before he has one of those blowup games we were used to seeing from him when he was on Philadelphia and Minnesota. NYY/Minnesota Over 7 (+106) $300 to win $318 A Tanaka/Hughes start is no doubt going to get a lot of attention on the low-side of the total so it's no surprise to see over 90% of the bettors already getting down on this 'under.' However, although the juice has moved, odds makers have not shifted this number off the key number of 7 and I think that Hughes being [...]

Wednesday July 2nd Betting Action

Another losing day yesterday as my plays went 1-2 and yet another top play went down. It's been a horrible run with my top selections but thankfully they aren't doing too much damage to my bankroll with the other plays coming through. It's a short card tonight with a lot of games already going off this afternoon, but I have found a handful of strong plays out there for you. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB YTD: 81-86-10 (+$549) MLB plays Texas ML (+123) $300 to win $369 Significant reverse line movement on the Rangers as they try to save face in this series after losing the first two. They are sending a rookie Miles Mikolas to the hill tonight for his first career MLB start after making select appearances from the bullpen for San Diego the last few years. It will be the first time anyone on the Orioles have ever faced Mikolas and as I've said before the pitcher always has a distinct advantage in these situations. Colorado ML (+170) $200 to win $340 Another game with some significant line movement going the Rockies way as they try to avoid losing three in a row to the Nats as big underdogs. When I see movement like this on big underdogs I almost always have no problem jumping on for a unit or two because baseball is a game where even the best teams lose 40% of the time and the math just pays off when you can hit a few of these +170 dogs. Colorado starter Tyler Matzek is the only guy in the Rockies [...]

Tuesday Bet Card

2-0-1 night and slowing getting back on track.  My TOP play was void last night, but cashed two money line dogs and made $900.  Would have loved to not have a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth to push my total, but these games these days aren't over till it's over, especially with real questionable bullpens.  My research is done and moving forward with my card below.  As always is my updated record by sport, TOP play and star rating. 1* = $100  TOP FREE PLAY – 34-24-2 (58.5%) (+$3884) MLB YTD 65-64-4 (50.3%) (+$1340) NFL YTD 1-0 (100%) (+$310) PARLAY’S YTD (1*) – 1-2 (33.3%) (+$120) YEAR-TO-DATE * - 2* 25-21-1 (54.3%) 3* 49-52-1 (48.5%) 4* 29-26-3 (52.7%) 5* 3-1 (75%) All lines courtesy Pinnacle Sports TOP play in bold Chicago White Sox ml +150 Game 1 (4*) - Home dog of less then 35% of betting action and a total of 8.5 or higher betting strategy. St Louis ml +115 (3*) - fade a pitcher after he throws a no hitter theory. Pirates ml -130 (4*) - Don't usually lay this kind of juice, but I really like the Pirates in this spot.  With a lefty pitcher on the mound for the Pirates the Diamondbacks are a league worst 6-12 against lefty starters this season.  Miley hasn't won since May 10 and in June allowed 7 homers and 16 earned runs in 29 and two third innings.  Take the Pirates *UPDATED LATE LINE MOVEMENT PLAYS* Cleveland ml +115 (3*) Cleveland/Dodgers OVER 7 +100 (3*)

Tuesday July 1st Betting Action

A 1-1 night with my selections yesterday cost me a bit of juice but that's alright as I can always live with those days. You can't always win in this business so if you can maximize your good days and minimize your bad ones, you are on the right track and a 1-1 day with minimal juice lost is an outcome I can move on rather easily from. It's Canada Day up here though and the Jays are playing an afternoon game for the festivities, but it's a few of the games that go later tonight that I've got my eye on. I'm going to be passing over the Giants game although it's Tim Lincecum's next start after his no-hitter, but that's something to keep in mind should you be looking to get down on that game. All lines taken from Pinnacle Sports with bet amounts "to win" on favorites and flat on underdogs Play of the Day in Bold MLB YTD: 80-84-10 (+$760) MLB Plays Oakland/Detroit Over 9.5 (-107) $214 to win $200 Detroit won 5-4 on a walk-off grand slam last night to actually cost Drock a winner on his 'under' 9 runs in that game. Tonight should be a different story with a rookie on the hill for Oakland making his third start and Rick Porcello on the hill. Neither of these guys can be trusted to hold down two very good offenses and with Oakland being 4-0-2 O/U in their last six on the road against a righty and Detroit being 7-2 O/U after a win, we will see these two teams combine for 10+ runs tonight. Philadelphia/Miami Over 7.5 (+101) $300 to win $303 The Phillies and Marlins don't quite [...]

Monday Bet Card

Well my 5 star play did not cash yesterday which never looks good on myself, but my three other plays did and ended the day 3-1 and +$541 to my baseball season total.  Let's keep cashing like yesterday and building that baseball bankroll. 1* = $100  TOP FREE PLAY – 34-24-2 (58.5%) (+$3884) MLB YTD 63-64-3 (49.5%) (+$440) NFL YTD 1-0 (100%) (+$310) PARLAY’S YTD (1*) – 1-2 (33.3%) (+$120) YEAR-TO-DATE * - 2* 25-21 (54.3%) 3* 48-52-1 (48%) 4* 28-26-3 (51%) 5* 3-1 (75%) All lines courtesy Pinnacle Sports TOP play in bold White Sox ml +136 (4*) - Home dog less then 35% of betting action on them and a total over 8.5 system play of mine. Cubs ml +150 (4*) - Fade the team after a Sunday Night baseball win strategy. Rays ml +100 (3*) - Rays always perform well against the Yankees.  They have taken 4 of 7 from them this season already. Oakland/Detroit UNDER 9 -110 (2*) - This is a clash between division leaders and should be played like a playoff game tonight.  Look for a well pitched game and not many errors.  Take the UNDER
